as if sovereign citizen meant anything at all...
It means they're a lunatic, which makes the term useful. It's always good when lunatics self-identify themselves.
It's almost sad that despite how well-intentioned people like these may be (the organizer, not the people who were mislead), it's just really revealing that they have no idea how the real world works. You can't just demand free housing/free real estate and expect the owners/govt/whomever to just give it to you. That's something you'd expect from a whiny 6 year old kid, not a full grown adult.
But then they can easily band together. See: Trump supporters.
Whiny six year old kid describes most sovereign citizens.
All these people missed the fact that the advertisement was intended for Jim Boonie only.

Nothing more than a pamphlet tho
My mom showed me this as it was happening during a live stream. I understand wanting to change city council but when I heard about free housing a red flag came up. Once the lady on the live stream managed to talk to an organizer and asked how exactly they'd get free housing and he replied "once the independent council is in we'll work on free housing for everyone who signed" I was furious. There's a serious homeless problem here and you can't fix it by just saying "Oh make all the abandoned houses free for them!" It's way more complicated than that. These people didn't care about the city council part, just the free housing and seeing these organizers lie to these people to fuel their own separate agenda is despicable
While that's true, it's such an obvious red flag that people really should've known better.
I agree they should of, but some of these people were really desperate that I imagine they didn't have the foresight. Which is why it makes me so mad
Don't lump SJWs in with liberals, that's like lumping /r/the_donald and Trump Supporters in with Republicans.
The American political landscape is becoming increasingly radicalized on both sides largely thanks to the media. The Venn Diagram's center circle is getting larger and larger.
No, it really isn't. The overton window is shifting further and further t the right because the right wing has been getting more and more radicalized for the better part of 40 years now. The left hasn't actually moved all that much beyond becoming pro trans, but because the right has shifted so far to the right they look more left by comparison.
Detroit actually has a lot of really cheap run-down houses. I remember 4chan's /v/ talking about starting a "/v/ mansion" with a large $100 home, except someone brought up the fact that the city will simply kill you regardless with housing taxes. That, and the massive amounts of crime in the area... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ynY2begPzoM
Conservatives I think you mean. Anyone who is a republican by the GoP's definition is a right wing extremist. Conservatism is so far to the left of Republicanism it's not even funny.
They really do which is why just giving the houses up to them isn't as simple as that. It's probably local bias but it's not as bad as everyone says. There's definitely dangerous parts but you just have to be aware of your surroundings. Though there's been a influx of gentrification happening in recent years that's pushing any locals out of homes they've been living in for decades which is why stuff like the article makes me so mad.
Hey millennials, here's how you can finally get a house by age 35.
