It's that time again where i need a new mouse. Not really looking for anything too expensive but affordable and needs to last longer than 4 months (no logitech. i refuse to buy anymore mice from them). Was looking at the Ninox Venator so somewhere in that price range (35 to 40 USD but willing to go to 45ish). i don't have that much of a preference when it comes to wired or wireless.
Venator or Nixeus Revel are the go to 3360 ODM mice.
Out of curiosity, why are you against using anything from Logitech?
ODM?
The double clicking issue. Practically every logitech mouse i've had had that problem. The mice themselves are fine. I have no problem with the build quality but it's whatever is causing the double clicking whenever i single click. I've RMA'd about 5-10 mice in about a year and a half because of it.
Original Device Manufacturer; usually referring to the PCB/fw/shell being generic to a specific factory, with only pretty minor customisation on the part of the client. Note that factories will have a shitload of shell shapes to choose from, so you don't normally see the same one twice. Both the Revel and Venator are from Motospeed if I recall correctly. An example of two (3090) ODM mice being completely identical are the nmouse 4K and Zalman M600r.
I'm really happy with my logitech g203 , I don't think you can get anything better at the price range , haven't had any issues with it for about 7-8 months now I think, I play mainly cs go and no double clicking yet.
As a last ditch effort, try dunking your mouse in really high % isopropyl alcohol or just pouring a lot into the mouse. While it's soaking, click the buttons and scroll wheel rapidly. Really work the alcohol into the switches. After a thorough clickening, let the alchohol drain and put it somewhere to ventilate and dry (like in front of a desk fan). After about a day of drying, plug it back in and see if this improves the switch problems. I do this every few years to restore my middle mouse button. This method has yet to fail me, so it might work for you.
don't do this on a lot of logitech mice though (or take the circuit board out) because it just straight-up destroys what little outward coating is left
Why not buy a quality mouse instead of buying one every 4 months or so? You'll spend less in the long run.
A WMO. Provided you're good at identifying the MTL04 ones you can get a lifetime supply of them for like £40 off ebay as a job lot. If you go through a lot of mice due to treating them like a gorilla then they're the cheapest good mouse. I don't get how people can destroy mice so much though.
Steelseries Rival 100 is fairly cheap and pretty good. Though I might not be the best source for info - I used a Razer Copperhead for over 10 years total after I fixed the double click issue myself (it's still functional but the scroll wheel would need some fixing to get the clickiness back). if you're willing to fix the double click issue yourself, a temporary solution is to sand the plastic pressing on the switch flat (there should be an indent where the switch is) or, if you run out of material, attaching a thin steel plate to it to serve as contact surface.
Logitech MX Master is built like a tank, feels and performs amazingly.
Most of the Logitech mice I had were replacements. I bought about 2 or 3 Logitech mice since i built my computer eons ago. Might just be bad luck or me playing FPS's a lot. I don't know. But the fact of the matter is I just want something that'll last me longer than 4 months without any or few issues. I don't actually treat my mice badly. Sure if it's somewhat acting up like only moving in a straight line when i move it in 20 different directions i might give it a little smack. Seems like that's not immune to the double click issue according to google. Looks really nice.
Nigga it's using a literal office laser sensor and has 25ms of click delay. It couldn't perform worse if it tried.
This is going to sound retarded because, it is but this is actually 100% software side. The software itself will activate MOUSE DOWN UP UP (Press release release) which causes the double clicking issue. They haven't fixed this for years, everyone who I've ever seen has a logitech mouse has this issue. The only way to fix it is a script or inverting the mouse buttons on the software and, then I just invert it back to normal in microsoft settings. https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/716/eea9afc5-1206-4e36-a949-c5d91feb50bc/image.png
Logitech use optimal 50m Omron jogs, they last practically forever. The correct way to fix the problem is to flash the settings to your mouse and deinstall their bloatware lmao. Mouse drivers are a dead meme.
Not possible when using their wireless mice, as the software is required to set them between LO/Endurance (125Hz w/ sleep states) and HI/Performance (500-1000Hz w/o sleep states)
G502 is actually damn good. Never had a fault for years on both my G502.
I miss setpoint. It may have been primitive garbage but it actually worked.
I beat the crap out of my G500 for over 8 years, took it apart a couple times and dripped Isopropyl into the switches and it cleared up the double clicking. Eventually it started dropping held grenades in CS:GO so I replaced it with a G403. While it's outer casing is nowhere near as sturdy or durable and like most mice they have added a rubberized coating to it to reduce the lifespan it has held up extremely well for the last year. Unlike what some mice will do, it's almost more broken into my hand rather than worn out. I bought both the G403 and a Rival 300 to compare and that thing was a steaming pile in every way as far as build quality and the side of it was already wearing in after a week of use. I paid $30 for it and I feel like the Rival was a rip off. Before I got my G500 I had a couple Deathadders break on me. I really really really miss the G500 scroll wheel and how solid that felt to navigate long webpages though but the lighter, better balanced G403 is much better to actually use. Conveniently, the G403 is also on sale for $35 which is a really acceptable price for it. https://www.amazon.com/Logitech-G403-Prodigy-Gaming-Mouse/dp/B01KUAMCV4/
