Why do you keep developing updates that favor zergs

What the fuck are you people doing. Now zerggs of 40 know where all their garbage zerg members are all the time. Goodbye hardcore rust. Favoring zergs yet again. This is disgusting as fuck. Now zergs can split into 8 groups of 5 and surround a base. NICE UPDATE LMAOOOOOOOOOO
r U a BADDIE?
Teams system is the best thing that happened to Rust - b/c now solo players can actually group up with allies/friends... and before you scream that "allying with friends is no longer solo" - tell me how many times you've started playing as a solo, and then met someone cool and ended up teaming up? Even if just for 1 play session (day)?
crybaby...
The devs have stated that they're willing to listen to constructive criticism. But the last thing they wanna read is childish ramblings like yours.
Dude there is plenty solo/duo servers,i don't really know what's the issue.Teams might be the best thing that happened to rust.
I have this feeling captain russia is like 200kg full sweat game dev posing as a 'plater' in the forums.
I also dislike the team system, but I don't go as far as to say it favors zergs and blahblahblah... All I hate about it is the UI thingy that takes my immersion down :c Otherwise I don't give two shits about it, since there's probably no base that big to surround or a clan that big that will bother surrounding a solo's base.
Clans need more hand holding than solo players.
then you havn't seen all my posts criticizing the DEVs or the MODs...
btw - I give credit where credit is due, and of course I will call people out if they deserve it. You must be new here...
The answer is never !. A solo player is by definition solo, I have only every had one team mate and that is only for 5% of my playing time. I dont team with anyone especially a group who can kill me with ease.
I have seen that happen so many times its not funny, I see players come on to the server , They team up for a while and then they start killing each other, You can tell where their base is after a while because of the mortality showing on the rust io map
. Seen so many "casual" teams end up with one killing the other, Doesnt matter if they have a team tag or no as they will kill each other in their base.
I have a feeling that you dont have anything intelligent to say so you have to insult other "posters".
well we can now argue about semantics of what solo means (and the irony of it - is that it might really mean different things to different people). Humans are complex social beings, and I could probably write a book on "choice theory" and when playing "solo" out of principle (so you can say that you are "all alone") is not the best way to do things in game or even in life.
I prefer to keep the definition of solo (especially in a socially complex "survival" game like Rust) relatively fluid: Yes, on any given day I might log in solo (literally planning to just be playing alone), and then someone on my friend's list would ping me, and say that they either came back to Rust after a break, or that they accidentally happen to be on same server as I am, or bazillion other reasons.
All of a sudden Im faced with a social dilemma - do I ignore/reject my friend, or do I accept? Remember - I logged in "thinking" that I will be playing solo, but the complexity of life (random events) might change that.
So I end up teaming up with my buddy, who may stick with Rust just for that 1 day (or more) - and Im no longer playing solo. Tomorrow though - I will again, be playing "solo", unless of course another unexpected random event changes the course of things.
TLDR: I too play solo, except Im open minded for any social/survival experience I may stumble upon in this game, which includes teaming up with old friends, or complete random strangers and making new friends. Its called "networking" :P and potentially its also called surviving. Being open to non-solo play when you log in as a solo = survival in my book.
Sometimes. Sometimes not. I've met quiet a bit of good people who are now on my Steam friend's list and maybe even in my Discord. All of them started as "random encounters" and "allying with randoms".
Oh and Vanilla Rust does not have a mortality showing on the map (thank god?)
Again - Im not saying that you are wrong or your opinion is invalid - just saying that there may be other opinions or even other (positive) experiences out there, that differ from yours.
WOW didnt realise that was what forums are for !!.
all u pro team ui pussies are members of zergs. keep zergin. boom roasted
Oh no, zergs can cordinate better now? that suuuucks.
Seriously, I haven't seen any issues yet, the current system only benefits teams of 8 atm. since that's the Max you can freind atm. a zerg of 40 members is still going to have a bad time. since they still have 32 members that don't have green dots.
The system helps you mark freinds and allies. I like it.
Rust is a Group Game, You start off solo and learn to make friends. If you play the game solo exclusivly then accept that You're going to be Out numbered, out gunned, and farmed. Learn to adapt or go extinct.
I'm in a group of 4 that plays vanilla and the team system is probably one of the best things brought over this year... This i feel helps solos / small groups just as much as "zergs" as we know where each other is and how to go about defeating other groups in pvp fighters. I hope they don't revert this feature.
Please also keep in mind the team limit can be changed by server admins from 8 either lower or higher, so if your playing a populated main server filled with clans i suggest switching to a different servers, zergs arn't zergs when the average group size matches their member count, i say this because i have yet to see a 40 man group because i tend not to go on servers with that sized clans.
More group hand holding. Can they dumb this game down anymore? I know its aimed at children but come on. It called itself a hardcore survival game.
That is if you are a real solo and not a captainrussia "i solo with other people" solo. Real solo may mean not attacking people on sight but it also means its you vs everyone.
Before a group had to id a guy in the distance before KoS. Now its oh all our green dots are here...kos...
I wasn't around at the time, but I thought the game originally came with an age restriction?
Honestly I agree but age means nothing anymore, be it an old man acting like a child or a kid buying the game while 5 years younger than permitted :/
True, but the spread of man childs is less than the immaturity of sub 18yo
It isn't about the way you act , the age restriction is to reduce the chance that young minds grow up thinking killing people is ok in real life.
As for the team issue. I see they are winding it back a little for the next update. It still doesn't let a solo player get that fraction of a second hesitation of a team player deciding to shoot or not, as there is a green dot and name above the head of team members. Friendly fire should be a thing in the game. Mistakes are made in combat. I still say its crap.
Honestly I like it, I met some cool random people who I built beside and we all decided to be a friendly
community, the team system helped us tell eachother apart from the bad guys, since none of us wanted to discord with eachother.
Make that sub 15yo. I have seen quite a few "join this server must be 15"
We had like 3 enemy neighbors, but we found out one of them is hacking, so i asked others to team up to destroy that cheating c*nts, we destroyed them and then we stayed in the team and we have so much fun now as a group of 4 people.
I can say the new team system is very good, only one thing i dont like and its owner of the group. On the other server where im playing (with group of 7-10 people) we have problems with invites, because every time we need invite some new player to our group, "our owner" is offline, and we are forced to make a new group (that's not big problem), but i think something like Owner > Moderator (with invite permissions) > Member will be nice to see.
This is an issue that will never go away it seems. I am and have always been a solo player and am finding it increasingly harder to go as the game progresses.
With that said , it has increasingly made me a better player over the years. I used to gloat about having a 45 minute setup time. Now Im on a 20 minute setup time.
It is more about adapting and overcoming....either go with it or die. OR come onto the Forums and complain about it (which never seems to do any good anyway)
have you tried to party up (team up) with some random neighbors from time to time?
Playing solo, does not mean you have to be solo 100% of the time, does it?
For me, personally it is not an option. I have played this game way and know the ins and outs of how it should be played to be successful. My idea points however do not meld very well with groups because I am way to interactive. If people are fucking off and attempting to just screw around with no intention, well..this is frustrating to me. I am way to calculated and precise. I take the gameplay serious and again, this doesnt sit well with majority so, I have just learned to go about it myself. I at least stay alive longer it seems /grins
Get your opinions in your ass.
This game was and always will "be" a solo game. FP just want to convert it to a team game. Reason? They are losing people, its a great move make more "beatiful" the team mode. But think something.
This is not the WoW, where you cant play without people if you want play content. Here you can play alone, raid alone, and zerg alone. Why should be I forced to play with people that I dont know just to play safe? I have my tactics, I play like I know and like I want, no one should forced me to play like the developers say, when Im playing like this since lot of time. This is just a face wash of the game to keep players.
Now, I will explain you, dickhead, the problem that is destroying this game slowly.
Today, actually, the big problem are the teams, because now all servers have like 10, 15 , 20 players in a team, and that makes a very very strong team with the new UI. Now, those clans, are destroying the servers, raiding everyone, killing new players, and being the strongets in the server, making all people leave the server because there is not enought people to counter them.
This month, I played in 3 server that now are with 0 players because the fcking clans with 10-20 players, raided everyone, even solo players, even new players.
Now, you will eat this shit for one of this two reasons:
Either you are a water drop in this stupid mechanic of down a server raiding everyone 20:1.
Or a solo player that is being destroyed by zergs 20:1.
I dont care if you reply me, you are a fanboy that just want being fucked by garry while you praying for an ak buff.
official statement on this - otherwise I get to call this "your opinion" and get to tell you to "get in in your ass".
Se what I did there?
The game will be whatever the Developer (Facepunch) decides it to be. And that depends on a lot of factors.
This is true, however this game didnt start off that way. Yes, as the years have gone by certain aspects have forced the Dev's to make decisions on this level. At the same time as I mentioned, this game was a good mix of Team/Solo & PvP/PvE. Granted, that was Legacy and now we have somewhat of a complete different iteration. Was it inevitable? Possibly but it doesn't mean that it didnt spawn from something different
Im neither. I don't let the game "dictate" how I play. Sometimes Im solo, sometimes duo or trio. If I meet a big clan that is being hostile - I can get up to 5 ppl to make a raid if I want to.
I don't put stupid labels on myself and "pigeonhole" myself into a given style of play (solo only, duo only nonsense). Im above the meta.
I play official Servers - 200 pop servers. And no, the population is not dying. My base has been raided, but its still standing here since day 1 of wipe (22 days now).
Oh and I don't use AK's - they are too expensive too make and lose. Plus its much more fun to use other weapons.
Good luck.
