Embedding randomly works for some sites and no for others, it's unreliable
Parents blaming a game platform rather than taking responsibility for not knowing what their children do online. It's essentially the TV babysitter all over again with parents being like "I thought American cartoons were great until I sat down and actually listened to what the show had to say." Shit, my mom thought Spongebob was too gay.
Are you victim blaming this poor 7 year old?
What could she have done to have the heinous crime done upon her?
We need admins in every Roblox playground to ensure this never happens again.
Why is she acting like the privacy settings have anything to do with this? I'm so confused by this whole thing.
I mean, she's a parent, I get it. The internet is permanently a new experience for her because it's so unlike any other piece of technology. I still can't fathom how anyone can look at this and take it seriously for even a second.
should have given her child world of warcraft, if only they'd learn.
Roblox is pretty good about protecting children. Just when signing up you are asked for an age; any user under 13 can only access games that are "filtering enabled" which essentially stops users from tampering with games (changing images, values, etc). The privacy settings only determine if you can use ingame chat, who you can message and receive messages from, who can follow you, and who can invite you.
The mom is lying about something. In some of the screenshots you can see the chat, which shouldn't be visible if the parents set it up for "maximum privacy".
because she probably has no fucking idea what shes talking about
Here's the screenshots in case anyone couldn't find them.
Wait, what?
How old are your parents?
I have a kid that age and I grew up with the internet. The internet has been a common thing everywhere even in this ass end of the Middle East since the 90s. I'm willing to be that mom is probably younger than me, meaning that just like you she never experienced a world where the internet wasn't a thing.
the amount of realism is disgusting
Give her csgo, show her the strats videos, when she's 17 and and she's introduced to sex and drugs, she's gonna tell people to fuck off cuz she has to learn how to smoke mid like a pro
It's a very educational game in terms of foreign languages, so that's actually a great idea.
I guess I wasn't thinking of someone with a kid who's probably obviously younger than me I'm 23 at this point, my parents were born in the 60's and by the time the internet hit the mainstream they were busy being, well, parents (age 40ish in the year 2000). My mom was lucky enough to be an office worker around the time of the dot com bubble so she's got a lot more experience with it. My dad was the guy who had 50 Internet Explorer toolbars though. Regardless, they would still probably look at this story and laugh.
Imo you would have to have a serious disconnect with technology as a whole in order to actually feel like "gang rape" can occur... digitally... through roblox.
Is it bad that I know this is parodying Piper Pierri?
Why the fuck are you blaming the daughter? The kid caused her own rape by being behind the rape tree, something that's a big no-no ESPECIALLY when she more than likely saw the fucking group of horny boys.
Is it bad I didn't know the pornstar's name? Because now I do.
