• What can be causing lag aside from my internet connection or my computer specs?

Hello, i used to love playing tf2 but after the end of the line update good ol' tf2 started lagging so hard i could barely even walk, now many years later i am able to play on a few community servers (skial and saigns). sadly skial servers are always empty and saigns is not anything for me. as fast as i join a valve (or most community) server my ping is spiking from 30 to 400 even though i have a good internet connection and my ping doesn't spike at all on other games like CSGO or dota2. And even if my ping is good i get that kind of lag that makes you teleport back to where you were a couple of seconds ago, or my gun not firing for a few seconds after i click. I've been wanting to play tf2 for so many years in a row now and I am wondering if anyone know why valve servers give me these problems and how to fix it. Thanks in advance
Here are a few options: Make 100% sure its not your internet provider or your router/modem acting up Update your graphics card drivers if you haven't already done so Completely uninstall TF2, then use "-autoconfig" in TF2's advanced launch options and make sure cloud sync is turned off before reinstalling and running
Done all of those multiple time to no avail, but thanks a lot for the answer
Another option would be to simply use a custom FPS config and look into TF2's network-specific cvars. I doubt this will fix anything but if you haven't already tried it, it's worth a shot.
You tryd using a network config? i wouldn't recommend them if your tf2 is running good but in this case i could recomend you to go to this site CFG.TF its a cfg creation tool get updated preaty frequently so if you think you are not up to date with your 2 yearold config well they got you coverd
