Water Hazard was so satisfying to watch. It almost looks tool assisted, but that's probably from the editing.
imagine Gman's face when he sees Gordon flying 150mph across his face. Also "give it a try", Gordon flies into the stratosphere.
Jesus fucking Christ, he's already in Nova Prospekt by the time the music for coming out of the tunnels from Ravenholm ends. I'd barely be throwing a grenade in the sniper windows by that point.
All the AI in this speedrun: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XV4oIFw_ArY
That ending had me in stitches
Fucking Christmas over here.
I never get sick of hitting npcs with stuff to move them along.
"That's the old passage to Ravenholm... we don't go there anymore." -2 minutes later- "God dammit, we lost Gordon to Ravenholm."
Launching a turret with a gravity gun to physically kill a combine while it's active is extremely hilarious.
Did Lazlo even have time to fucking die
Well you need to touch the sand for it to happen, so no.
KInd of makes me thing of a hypothetical mindfuck game that would be intentionally programmed to recognize when the player is speedrunning and do troll things such as making a pissed off character who didn't get to die chase him throughout the entire game.

"I didn't see you get on." "Huh- didn't see him get off, now that I think about it."
@ 40:10 "And if you see Dr. Breen, tell him I said 'Fuck you!'" - Barney
I like to imagine this is the canon way that Gordon Freeman stopped the Combine
"I can see your MIT education [of physics] really pays for itself"
Whats with the save loading thing?
Slightly out of topic, but here's some great news about new HL1 speedrun done with save warping: The run is finished. The final time is 06:25.572. The release date of Half-Life: Done Enormously Warped is the 15th of July, next Sunday. Stay tuned for the exact time of the live event on SourceRuns Twitch. Source
"Mr. Freeman, I go the car read-" *LiberationMale zooms by* "Oh... n-nevermind..." I also love how Barney's voice carried so far, it wasn't censored by the rubble. Speedrun are so fun to watch.

"Gordon, the Vortigaunts said you were here! I can't believe you made it so quickly on foot!" No fucking kidding. Also the canal part remains a favorite for all the dumb shit you can do and break. I didn't even mean to and I'd regularly skip and break shit early in the game's life.
I'd literally never watch a speed run if they didn't do glitch runs.
I enjoyed this one because some of the areas were so insanely fast and quick, especially the sections Raintnt and Maltemllr did but overall I don't enjoy glitch runs because you're getting out of areas you were intended to go and therefore you're not really speed running the "game" you're speed running broken level design.
While this speedrun was entertaining, I had much more fun watching older ones where runners would do the actual map with amazing skill movement instead of just flying under it using save/load out of bounds glitch. It's the same speedrun but with a lot of "Wow" moments simply skipped.

If I was interested in seeing a game just played efficiently I'd play it myself really. Hell, just rushing through a round of Wizard of Legend I nearly got a record pace and that was without any practice for speed running it. I want to see it done different, in ways that aren't just, "I fought the boss quicker. I knew not to stop here. I knew how to solve the puzzle already."
By the time he died, ep2 was happening
