He has a fair point. Considering Mexico is currently not in the best situation atm.
How has Venezuela not overthrown its government yet??
Guess who got the guns.
The military ofc, but it's surprising that the military has remained loyal.
Mexico isn't Imperialistic than used be as Mexican Empire. So yea, make sense.
Wasn't there a small, unsuccessful coup attempt by a small part of the military a year or so ago?
poor starving unorganized dissidents don't make for good rebels. Those who are none of those form cartels and use the government as a sock puppet to protect its interests
it's not easy when you have the whole population without guns (For Chavez law to avoid other coup against him), against heavy government thugs The National Police and National guard soldiers who have the weapons and shoot to kill and also the poor organization among the people We tried before in 2014 and 2017 and both was massive failure and I can give you some points and why and why we not have overthrown Maduro yet: A) The National Guard are the "Most" Loyal side of the Government who bribe them with money or benefits to avoid any "rebellion", Government thugs are either prison criminals or criminals protected by the government. which are from the poorest areas of venezuela that are practically the areas that the government has the most control over Even with the tremendous crisis and the great famine, they still remain loyal. with immunity benefits or "I'll give you a new bike." B) Instead of the whole country going out to support the Protestants all the weight they left to the Students and nobody helped us since "It's not my problem." so while the protesters were being massacred and killed by Maduro security forces and government thugs, Nobody wants to lift a finger to help them and they'd rather watch TV or complaining on facebook, even call the police and the Maduro security forces to warn where the Protestants are because "they're blocking my view" C) Poor organization, Even when it was known that the National Police, Government thugs and the National Guard were shooting with firearms during protests many refused to arm themselves with firearms in order to fight back. (Not as happened during Euromaidan when Ukrainian Protestants armed themselves with weapons)So you have National Guard Soldiers and Government thugs with Pistols and Assault Rifles against protestants armed with rocks Others were only demonstrating for hours and were going home or they left the barricades (which were too poor or only using 3 tires and you had your "barricade") alone. Also many were protesting in the same places as always so it was stupidly easy for security forces know which side people would go on and which side to block. D) Many were fooled for "Venezuelan Opposition" support during the protests (in 2014 protests give it its "Support") in 2017 protests conitnue its "Support" tntil we finally found out all his "support" was a complete lie and only used us in their own personal interest and the people who died during the 2014 and 2017 protests were for nothing so many Protestants (who gave their trust to the opposition and was big part) they felt betrayed and stopped protesting and while those protesting Maduro's departure ended up either Murdered or arrested and tortured. and the reason no one else wants to continue is because everyone is demotivated. The military has tried to carry out a coup d'état in order to bring out the reason why the crisis is already critical, but they were all arrested There are still soldiers who want to take him out but many are at risk of being arrested or tortured. not counting the "purges"
Yeah it's an uphill battle and I guess this is easy for me to say, but the protesters in Ukrainian Revolution overthrew their government despite police using live ammunition and protestors not having weapons.
The Bérkut were Gendarmerie (Military but in police Role) and they were the special division of the Ukrainian police The Ukrainian Protestants did have weapons there are some pictures that show up with guns (Many hand-to-hand weapon as batons, bats, chains, pipes etc Some carry air rifles others shotguns pistols anti-Riot police snatched from Bérkut units), And the fight was against Bérkut. But unlike Us The Ukrainians were more coordinated and each supported the other from reinforcing their barricades from garbage bags, to sandbags burning vehicles etc and not abandoning them, improve your protections by wearing everything from motorcycle helmets until old WW2 helmets And when the casualties occurred, instead of becoming demoralized, they began to reinforce everything and more and more people were going to support them in order not to leave them alone. The Venezuelan Resistance/Protesters was against The National Police, The National Guard, and the Government thugs, (3 vs 1) who would rather shoot to kill , The problem is We are very poorly organized, No one gives us absolute support, instead they do the opposite to notify Maduro's security forces and no one in the country would rather move their asses to help us because "It's not my problem" or "I'm not going to support those Protestants to die like an idiot." so many would rather leave you alone and die than help you.
