Washington (CNN) The National Republican Congressional Committee has pulled its support for a New Jersey Republican congressional nominee who has said diversity leads to Muslims killing Christians.
Seth Grossman is running for New Jersey's 2nd Congressional District, where Republican Rep. Frank LoBiondo is retiring after holding the seat for 24 years.
On Monday, the liberal media watchdog group Media Matters for America published a report that said Grossman had promoted opinion pieces from white nationalist websites.
"Bigotry has no place in society—let alone the U.S. House of Representatives. The NRCC withdraws our support of Seth Grossman and calls on him to reconsider his candidacy. The people of New Jersey's 2nd District deserve an inclusive Republican candidate who will be a trusted conservative voice in Congress," committee Chairman Steve Stivers said in a statement.
A previous CNN KFile review of Grossman's social media posts revealed recurring rhetoric against diversity and derogatory descriptions of Muslims and African-Americans.
In one April 2015 Facebook post, Grossman shared a news article about Muslim migrants throwing Christians overboard from a refugee raft in the Mediterranean and added: "This is where 'multi-culturalism' and 'diversity' has taken us."
In December 2015, Grossman posted that Kwanzaa was "a phony holiday invented in 1960's by black racists to weaken and divide Americans during a Christmas season of joy and good will."
and if you're wondering why this guy's name is vaguely familiar
Grossman was also recorded calling diversity "a bunch of crap and un-American," which was uploaded to YouTube by the progressive "super" PAC American Bridge 21st Century.
"In my view, the best way to bring diversity to the Republican Party is for Republicans to openly say that the whole idea of diversity is a bunch of crap and un-American," Grossman can be seen saying in the video uploaded in June.
Imagine being so fucking insane that even the Republicans want nothing to do with you
"Goddammit dude you weren't suppose to say that YET, you were suppose to wait until 5-10 years later"
Just saying, he does really look like John Oliver's father or something.
New Jersey's 2nd Congressional District is my region.
We are literally the reddest part of New Jersey, so this guy still has a half decent chance but we're still New Jersey so even the reddest part still has a lot of blue in it.
Sad to see LoBiondo go, he wasn't the greatest but by far one the better Republicans in Congress.
Gotta admit, that creepy bigass pic kinda made me jump when opening the tab.
Oliver John is that you?
