The fictional Maine town of Castle Rock has figured prominently in King’s literary career: Cujo, The Dark Half, IT and Needful Things, as well as novella The Body and numerous short stories such as Rita Hayworth and The Shawshank Redemption are either set there or contain references to Castle Rock. Castle Rock is an original suspense/thriller — a first-of-its-kind reimagining that explores the themes and worlds uniting the entire King canon, while brushing up against some of his most iconic and beloved stories."
This show is a dream come true
So basically Disney's Marvel's Hulu's the The Shawshank Derry Diaries where nobody ever actually says Sissy Spacek's name, they just call her pig prom lady and they'll also have "blue jean hippie medallion man" and "that place with the rat thing that happened". Welp hope they got some good ass writers then cause scenario premise droppping will only carry you so far.
Of course it's set in Maine
Stephen King Cinematic Universe.
Loves me some horror and mystery shows. Been waiting for something new to sink my teeth into.
Technically almost every one of his stories is set in the same universe.
it's weird to have Bill Skarsgård in this while the IT movies are still coming out and have him not play Pennywise
This could have been capitalized on in films had Sony not already fucked it up with The Dark Tower. I'm interested to see how this series pans out and what familiar characters or elements it might depict.
Can't wait for the tommyknockers scene where two people are pinned to a wall, talking about their first horrible awkward sexual experiences while being used as batteries to power an espresso machine that shoots lasers into people's eyes.
I guess we are also getting stuff from Derry as well
