( Please Respond! ) Gmod only running in background

So every time i launch Gmod (via Steam) the game only runs in the background (i see hl2.exe with the gmod icon in task manager.) i have tried re-installs, and even going in the game files and running the "Factory Reset" file. So if there is a fix please tell me.

ok i guess there is no fix then? atleast say something!
