Will we live to see a day when Republicans don't whine and try to fuck up the ACA? It''s been eight years and a majority of people favor it.
they know that this is only going to hurt red states right? like blue states spend their own money to bring out people for aca signups...
I am all up for a repub health plan
Only issue is it seems all about fucking people over and nothing else, by being 'no-plan'. No thank you.
Good news, that's exactly what obamacare is!
Kicking out a window so they can complain that it's broken.
To put this into perspective for folks living in other countries, I already pay more for bare bones health insurance than I do for my mortgage. Health insurance is, far and away, the single largest monthly expense my family has, and that's BEFORE actually having to use it to access healthcare services. Before the insurance will actually kick in and begin covering healthcare services, we must pay at least $14,000 out of pocket.
Under Trump's bullshit, monthly costs are expected to increase by at least 25%, while actual coverage of services will be gutted.
How much is average health insurance monthly cost?
Average family monthly premium (without subsidies)—$1,021, which is 23 percent higher than the average premium of $833 for 2016 open enrollment.
Average annual deductible for families—$8,352, which is a 5 percent increase since 2016.
Average Health Insurance Costs for 2017
Add to this that between an average individual deductible of $430 and 40% of Americans not having $400 for an emergency, and even an insured individual can be financially broken by a trip to the hospital. We could just bump our taxes up a little and get some actual coverage, but that would be socialism and we can't have that.
Surviving Trump's presidency won't be decided by your political affiliation, but rather how lucky you can be with avoiding a big medical problem.
That's always been the case, it's just gotten much worse (and will continue to). Even before Trump, medical debt was the leading cause of bankruptcy in the United States. Hospital bills destroy the economic foundations of more US families than any other single source.
at this point i'm pretty sure that's exactly what they fucking want
I'd be interested to see how many households have their tax savings canceled out by the inevitable rise in healthcare costs.
