They announced this on the A.V.Club, which made the oh-so-brilliant decision two years ago to sell to to Gizmondo Nertwork, along with the rest of the Onion sites. Who could have possibly predicted that this would come around to bite them in the ass?

Hopefully it has to get broken up when being sold because of people not wanting some of the shittier pieces, maybe then those sites will actually pretend to be objective or independent.

Well The Onion isn't actually part of Gizmodo group (GMG): it's owned by Fusion Media Group. Univision is just selling both at the same time.
