I think it's very endearing enthusiasm, I love seeing hyped up happy people get even more hyped and celebrate. Especially in context that England hasn't won the cup in decades. It's the same reason I love seeing reactions from cities after an NFL win from a team that haven't won or first time won and pulling out a miracle, despite not having much interest in the sport itself.
France is cool too but I really hope England wins it!
