Looks nice, makes me optimistic for the true next gen of Pokémon games.
yuh, i fuck with this
I'm so conflicted on these games. I admit I am a huge sucker for Pokemon remakes, especially for the Kanto region. It's the one series I think can really get away with it's 'expected remake/re-release' mentality. This game is so much more than that though, it looks like a really well done remake of Kanto and I can totally get behind how cute it is. I mean, just look! You can run around on an Arcanine and play around in co-op. This looks great!
I just, I'm not going to enjoy playing with the Go mechanics. I understand that the next generation of Pokemon games on the Switch will most likely be more faithful titles, and this is just intended to introduce Go fans and younger audiences to Pokemon, but I'm not going to be able to withhold my disappointment when I inevitably play this. I'll have fun, but I'll just be wishing I was playing a more traditional Pokemon game.
At least, one scrubbed clean of Go's mechanics.
I'm legit taking this as a preview to gen 8
I like the artstyle (outside the abysmal chibi shit that gen 7 fixed), but everything else looks really meh to me.
They're taking the "well it's for people who started with GO" thing too far, they're changing up and removing things while adding very little new.
What a shame this is a switch exclusive.
Oh god you can give pikachu a cute lil hairdo
I haven't bought a Pokemon ever Pokemon Gold for the Gameboy Advance. I think I might actually hop back in starting with this.
Gold was on the Game Boy Color
This game is literally made for audiences like you, so go for it!
Wait it looks like proper pokemon battles now? The release trailer seemed like it was just pokemon go style battles, where you just threw balls. I'm now doubly interested.
IS that actually Gary Oak/ Blue? I'm going to be massively disappointed if it is.
The battles use the regular mechanics, the catching and evolution system uses Go's.
Might be nice for people who want a different Pokemon experience, but I'm going to pass on this and wait for the 2019 game.
Gold and Silver were actually OG gameboy games, they just came out with the GBC and were compatible with it, Crystal was the first full GBC title.
Its not. Its supposedly set after the events of Red and Blue and both Red and Garry are set to make an appearance.
The graphics look very pretty. Makes me hyped for what the real RPG titles could look like, but I'd rather wait for those games instead of paying $60 for Pokemon GO+.
Everything about this except the Go mechanics looks great.
I might not be excited for this, but I am excited for a mainline pokemon game where you can run around and do stuff with your pogeys.
Why does Blue look like a fuckboy now
Not sure if I'll be able to get used to not battling wild pokemon anymore to level up.
Still seems a bit empty for a Switch game, it's an impressive console. Would have thought it would be atleast up to Gen2, 152 feels so limiting and dry now.
Since there's co-op you'd also think there would be full character customisation rather than just outfits, surely it's easier to do with cartoony visuals?
I really hope this isn't representative of the full game.
...I'm saying all this like I haven't bought a Switch just to play this
My GBA atually came bundled with pokemon crystal. Maybe it was the same for pokemon gold at one point.
Where else would it go? Game Freak admitted they couldn't really push the 3DS any farther after Ultra Sun/Moon and mobile already has pokemon go
Why must you make me feel old at the ripe age of 23
God this looks so pointless. So what, you get to go around Kanto with some little cute low-level Pokemon and give them haircuts without actually getting into battles?
I am going to play the fucking shit out of this and love every minute. Feels like it's more akin to Animal Crossing in terms of pace.
"empty" describes every pokemon game released in the past 5 years. I'm more interested in the actual gen 8 games next year, but even for that game, you should keep your expectations very low
If anything, I think it'd be cool if they take on this art style for the next gen games. It looks slick as heck.
Oh god.
I'm almost 30.
I would be sold on this game if it wasn't stuck with just gen 1 Pokemon.
