Computer locks up upon loading a map/joining a server

This happens exactly when the game would be finished loading/joining a server.
It's definitely a memory leak, as the Task Manager tell me that 98% of my RAM is being used right before my computer freezes.
It started happening around the start of July, sometime after I had switched out my Realtek drivers for Microsoft's default ones.
I don't know if that was the cause of the memory leak however. I wasn't playing Garry's Mod around the time I did that.
Help is very much appreciated.

Since the memory gets full thats probably exacly the reason why your pc locks up. because thats exacly what happens when your ram is full.

what have you tried so far?

Reinstalling Gmod and uninstalling all addons
Checking game cache
Updating graphics card drivers
I'm about to try using the Chromium branch of Gmod.

you might want to downgrade the drivers. Im using a RX 580, and still use the drivers 18.2.1
I dont like upgrading drivers..they always create some new problems..and this version works perfect for me right now sooo..why change.
