I really want to try The Crew 2. I've played the first one for sooo many hours. How's the exploring/open world stuff? The only thing I care about is cruising tbh.

So the BeamNG export in automation is pretty neato. Handling is pretty weird but it's functional. In crashes the body just dents and crumples, not a lot of spectacular stuff like with the normal cars. Also they added Inline-5s (ayy) and boxer engines to the UE4 game

Sorta racing game related, has anyone ever had to contact Ubisoft support for anything before? tl;dr I bought some of the Trackmania titles on Uplay a few months ago since they were on sale and they don't work at all (they just launch with an error saying the install is corrupt), I then later bought them on Steam and they work fine. So naturally I asked them for a refund and fuck me are they useless. They have had me doing variations of the same 3 troubleshooting steps for weeks now and now they are making up new ones that are obviously not going to fix the issue. I don't think I'll buy any more games from them in future. On a more positive note, does anyone on FP play Trackmania at all?

Been playing trackmania since the beginning. United forever with the fuckin like seven environments is my personal favorite (except those slow ass no traction havin ass coast cars that were introduced in sunrise) but trackmania turbo is a very good modernization of it and I like each environments gimmick. Canyon, Valley and Lagoon look interesting but I really don't like how they fractured those games and you've got to use that fuckass mania planet bullshit or whatever. Fuck all that. But yeah. Trackmania United Forever and Turbo are the tits. I love the browser that you can just import skins from in TMUF.

Trackmania United was the shit back in the day. I can’t remember the name of the environment but it had those really fast supercars and was kind of coastal, but not Mediterranean like the other coastal one with slower cars, and I managed to get in the top 5 in the world for one of the last levels in that environment. fuck TU was the tits. It was such a bloody good deal too. Also I actually preferred the slower coastal cars as they were so challenging.

ManiaPlanet is awful but you don't get the same online experience in Turbo, you also don't get the interesting titles like pursuit etc which are quite fun. I have a love/hate relationship with Stadium currently but I can't help but grind some of the tracks for ages until I feel like I've done them to the best of my ability. Once I feel done with it I might go finish off Canyon which I haven't played properly for years and I will eventually get round to Valley (and Lagoon maybe but I hate the handling). I haven't really played the old TM, I would get it for the other environments but fuck the price of it at the moment, £25 is too much for an old game like that imo. Even though I don't have massive playtime across them TM might still be my favourite racing game series.

Not really a racing game per sé but damn Riff Racer is fantastic fun

Congratulation T10, you turned me from a rally lover into a rally hater.

I just really hope they explore more of the Scottish highlands or add in the Isle of man in DLC.

Apparantly that's not the finished map since it's a dev build or whatever. Notice how there's only like 5 houses while there are ~12 or so.

The only unrevealed parts of the map are the white bits in the center. There are no roads that suggest that any future reveal of the map is going to expand the size of the map. What you see now is the final size of the map.

It's not like they have crammed 5 houses in that tiny center bit. I'm not saying to hold out hope but it's been confirmed it wasn't the final map.

I'd like to know more about Crew 2, only read a few reviews and it doesn't seem promising.

Bought a G29, can't wait to drive the RWD cars in Dirt Rally how they were meant to be driven. While it's in the post I have a few questions, anyone have experience with diy handbrakes and how sims handle them. I was consdering buying a cheap n shit joystick attaching an elastic to it and boom diy handbrake, but wanted to ask around here first if anyone of you have any advice.

While we’ve never charged money for prize crates in Forza Motorsport 7, their presence in the game has continued to be a source of controversy. The overwhelming feedback has been that this system feels out of place in the game. After careful consideration, we have decided to completely remove prize crates from Forza Motorsport 7. Similarly, paid tokens – which were a part of previous Forza games – will not be coming to Forza Motorsport 7 or Forza Horizon 4. Due to the complexity of removing prize crates from the game – while keeping access to Driver Gear, Mods and Badges – we expect that this process will be completed in the winter timeframe. Starting this month we’ve already taken steps towards that goal, first by unlocking more than 100 previously locked “exclusive” cars and, second, by completely removing cars from the prize crates in the game. The current lineup of prize crates offer no competitive advantage and only offer Driver Gear suits, Mods and badges, and these crates will remain in place until crates are removed entirely.

I mean i don't know about Forza Motorsport 7 but the Forza Horizon 3 are just... inconsequential? The money they give you is insignificant and the cars are cars that you can buy normally or Horizon edition ones which are... I don't know why they exist, really.
