Simon Hellwig continues, “We have great respect for what the Pyro Studios team have accomplished and created throughout the history of the studio. Therefore, we see it as our responsibility to want to revive and further develop these beloved games for the fans around the world. Of course, this will include the development of a completely new games for all platforms, but also an extensive adaptation of the existing titles for contemporary technologies and platforms. We’re incredibly excited about the opportunities, and will begin speaking to potential development studios in the near future.”
For those who don't know Kalypso Media, they're the publishers of the Tropico games.
Loved this series (including the FPS spinoff), I remember being terrible at the first 2 original games as a kid and had to rely on cheats, but it was still a fun time. Cautiously optimistic for the potential of these, especially recent games like Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun shown that you can still do tactical stealth strategy games like these pretty well.
Commandos 2 is one of my favorite games, I hope that they can do the series some justice.
Is that the one with the big ass buddha statue in one of the levels?
Hot diggity dog, I loved the commandos series and played it with my dad as a kid.
Also it's hilarious in multiplayer because I've pulled off so many high-risk moments with a harpoon gun and yelling at my friend "COME MOVE THIS GUY" while he's screaming "NO NO NO NO NO DON'T GO YOU WON'T BE ABLE TO SHOOT HIM"
I got into these games because I could play them with my little brother on the shitty laptop we had. We had a lot of fun times with it
