I know this isn't Idubbbz but it is a worthy video to be posted because of the threads we used to have in the past of Yandere Simulator.
Yandere Dev genuinely seems to not be in on the joke of his own game's concept and it's fucking weird.
His obssession with emails is fucking bizarre as well, how hard is it to adopt some kind of ticketing/issue tracking system like any rational software developer.
I already heard of his bad behavior and incompetence before with some of the same info shared on the FP thread here, but damn I didn't know about his general attitude within his subreddit and Discord community, let alone how he responds to his fans in YouTube and in general.
He doesn't see it as a joke. He's a very disturbed individual.
I think one of the most upsetting parts of this is that he's getting $4k a month for practically doing nothing, and has a YouTube channel with over a million subscribers with videos that comes up with excuses on why his game isn't finished yet rather than actually figuring out a way to work on his game in a competent and professional manner.
Never saw a picture of Yandere Dev until now. Dude looks like Tom from Myspace.

The dude is unhinged, like there's all this focus on stuff that should be tongue in cheek creepy, as in focusing on uncomfortable anime tropes like the obsession with fanservice like the colour of a character's panties, or like creeping on other character's backstories to learn really strange and specific information about them.
Except he's serious about them being important parts of the game and not weird perverted tongue in cheek things. Like dude would watch a parody that has every -bad- anime creepy trope in it and go "Yep it's all here" and take it seriously.
It's ironic. He has stated many times that Hitman was a huge influence on the game, but even the Hitman devs don't take the subject matter of their own game too seriously.

I wish I could find the pastebin that I saw before of the awful fucking code. If trees all the way down.
As someone who's dabbling with code, there really is one question to this..
How can I NEVER BECOME A YandereDev?!
I'm poking at C++, but surely I can be better than that.
Just be willing to improve yourself and don't turn down constructive criticism. There, now you have a better mindset than he does.
I feel like he's a little hard on self teaching in this video. It's possible to learn some good coding practices on your own, if you are critical of your own work. (Doesn't look like this dev is though)
In college I learned very little about coding practices that would be useful in managing a large project like this. Although I did get a computer science degree and nothing game related.
Getting a real programming job is still way better than self teaching and school. Nothing makes you learn what not to do better than working with someone else's bad code.
I don't know how he got this far with all these if else if else though, I would have tried to learn a better way for my own sanity at least.
Also what a cunt, more complicated than Hitman and Persona combined fuck off.
switch statements are your friend
actually scratch that
basic maths is your friend
As someone who has been working using Python in the past few months, I have no idea who thought that not having Switch statements in your language, was a good idea. Or not having variable incrementation.
Long ass video but it shows what kind of person YandereDev is.

It does get very interesting.

Yandere dev has a hammer so everything he sees looks like a nail. All his game logic fits into variables and if statements.
Just basic understanding of more in-depth programming concepts like dictionaries, maps, delegates and config files will help to avoid these mistakes.
Lol i got so much shit when i commented on how weird and creepy his videos were, are people still into the game?
Another tip on how to engage with people, do not engage with people who clearly have an interest in trying to start shit. Just block such and focus on people who're positively interested, it'll help in the long run.
If you're really interested, there is SO much more shit yanderedev has done. Though, you'll have to go to shitty websites like prettyuglylittleliars and kiwi farms to find it.
I liked the video but this guy needs to improve his pacing imo, the video felt very long-winded at times.
How is it that me, with a cursory understanding of coding from like, six years ago, can immediately look at that and start to get really, really fucking confused as to what in the shit he's doing with the coding
I remember seeing his game and thinking it could be really neat.
Then I saw his attitude and his general "Idea guy with a lot of hang-ups" and realized it would never become anything. You don't need to be in the industry, or be in the industry long to spot the people who talk more then they work.
Are switch statement actually faster then if/else statements? Dont they compile to the exact same code?
Maybe in some languages, but most use some method of lookups to make them faster. Most switch statements require the different sections of code to be designated by a simple type like numbers or strings, and not by evaluating code like in if/else.
It's also cleaner when dealing with large amounts of cases, something he clearly is.
That's what I'd always been taught, while modern compilers will often act pretty smartly, you still want to make use of switches just because they're so much nicer to read and deal with.
Honestly I personally hate switch statements just because the difference in syntax, I like brackets, I use brackets on absolutely everything, and switches not having brackets confuses and annoys me to no end. Despite that I do still think once you get beyond a full page worth of cases you definitely should have started using switch.
Remember kids, if your brackets don't start on the next line after tabulation, you are subhuman.
