Seeing this fail so hard just makes me happy.
So they announced the game just a few days before they released it?
That's really bad marketing, there's no way they could've spread enough awareness in time to get a decent playerbase at launch even if the game was good
Literally a day before launch, they pulled a Radical Heights.
Except unlike Radical Heights, where the devs between that and Lawbreakers were going for a blatant cash grab with an unfinished game but Lawbreakers was alright if forgettable, here the devs of The Culling took every single bit of player feedback into account and destroyed their own first game from the inside outside out, and then pulled the plug on it altogether before moving onto this shitheap. Boss Key at least had competent people pulled along for Cliffy's ride, but Xaviant are just real lazy bastards.
Turns out the devs of The Culling also made Lichdom: Battlemage. And as mediocre as that game was, they've literally put random "THIS GAME IS AWESOME" bill points in their bloody screenshots.
Imagine being so out of touch with your own game, that a selling point has to be, "THIS GAME IS AWESOME."
Here’s a video relating to why the first game eventually died out.

Tl;dr
The devs took every feedback in and as a result, made a lot of changes that drove off the players.
Looking at culling 2, it literally looks like PUGB, the way they've designed most of the UI and even how weapons are placed, atleast the original had a decent setting, well compared to most anyway, with the arena in the center and the cameras everywhere watching over you, even the scoreboard in the sky, how do they just decide to downgrade

??
21.5 players is HILARIOUSLY low. I don't understand why they'd market it the way they did. Pathetic...
I must've bought the wrong BR game, I wondered why when I watch other people playing PUBG they don't have pugs running around
Yo, I might have an unpopular opinion here, but Lichdom: Battlemage was a pretty fun and interesting game. I'm not defending the advertisement shit, but it's actually pretty good and I recommend it on a sale. Like magical Serious Sam.
why would they copy PUBG when:
1) Bluehole is suing everyone they think is copying them
2) not even PUBG wants to be PUBG
