• Razor Deathadder Chroma left click not working as it should

So I've been using this Razor mouse for a couple of years, and now it's been showing signs of possible wear on the inside. Sometimes the left click button will work as normal. Other times one press won't register, or one click comes out as two. This gets awful when: You close a webpage tab and it closes the next tab over too Trying to drag objects around by holding it down and stops midway messing up what I was doing ie working with animation or PS. For an animation guy this is harming me immensely. Endangers my gaming experience when something calls for a 1-click action and it doesn't happen. FPS and RTS skills get hurt. Moving text around fucks my my edits. I've been constantly giving it updates so it can't be outdated software. Can it be showing signs of aging hardware that quickly or another issue with the button? Can this be resolved with simple DIY?
Definitely a wear problem. Is it still under warranty? Opening it up yourself to fix it would probably void that, but IIRC it's just held together with screws so it is possible to open it up yourself if you are so willing. Aside from cleaning out dirt, there's not much you can do inside that thing.
With my DIY track record I think I'll stick with cleaning it on the outside. Lucky me I had something to track my warranty. Only two months before expiration. Sadly I may have threw out the receipt and can't be found via mailbox. Unless I can BS it somehow to get it fixed or replaced.
Yep this is the little clicker switch underneath the button, there's a little spring that slowly gets bent out of shape and causes it to be finicky. I've rejuvenated one myself but you have to: -open the mouse -take the switch off and pry the ends open with something very thin -bend the spring back into shape -get the spring mounted back inside which can be a pain because of how small everything is -close everything back up. https://community.pcgamingwiki.com/uploads/gallery/album_38/sml_gallery_13_38_243740.jpg
Typical Razer mice click problems. Actually a somewhat easy fix but you need two things. Replacement feet for your mouse. A can of electronic contact cleaner. If you do have warranty just get it replaced and you might even get a newer version, some of the more recent models have a lot less problems. If not you have to open the mouse, which usually makes the feet useless if you get any knick in them if you don't get them off completely flat, dust it out, you will probably see a lot of hair and dust. Then you spray the mouse buttons (small black plastic boxes with a while little button knob on top) with some contact cleaner, click them a few times, tab the excess off with some paper towel or so and let it dry for a while, preferably over night. Depending what kind of contact cleaner you use, the key might actually be slightly sticky for a while, had that one time but over night it resolved itself and worked just fine afterwards. Don't worry, there is actually not much you can really break inside, it is fairly easy. Had to do the same thing twice with my Razer Naga 2014 already, one time with an older Razer mouse and one time with a friends Naga. On some mouses you can actually even readjust the mouse button springs but its not easy to get the plastic case of the actual button in most of them, contact cleaner should do the job though.
These are good answers. Hopefully whatever happens I can get this going for a while longer before getting a replacement.
Switch is dying. Cleaning it may or may not help. There are some drivers floating around somewhere that allow you to add proper debounce, which will at the very least mitigate the double clicking. I can't for the life of me remember what the name of them is though.
Well my dad and I decided to fix it ourselves because we didn't want to shuffle through old recipts. We somehow took the top part off but the feet were pooibile to remove. After some messing around trying to pry the bottom off we quit. Once I put them top back on though the left click seems to be working normally again, at least for now. On the Razer site the Chroma Deathadder is all but gone, so a good similar replacement is in order. I'm not looking for anything fancy, just something to adjust mouse sensitivity and scroll speed.
X-Mouse Button Control, it's what I've been using for my Kinzus because of their garbage switches and non-existent debounce delay.
