He won't be. Personalities like Chris Wallace and Shepard Smith exist as a counterweight to radical propagandists like Hannity; Fox News keeps them on air to create the appearance of balance, and soak up criticism from viewers who don't consider Fox to be conservative enough.

because I know multiple people personally who think people should be shot for kneeling during the national anthem
Obviously not every questionable comment is from an American but some definitely are and are presumably Republican's given what they are saying.

There are obvious bot and propaganda accounts of course, but there are also genuine people like this, I had a customer yell in my face before because I said I don't trust Trump (at my work we do casual conversation/banter with customers, nothing serious) after they asked me my opinion on the election, saying "He's actually fighting for the middle class and hard workers like you, unlike Crooked Hilary or that communist Bernie who just recently bought that mansion", and I had to bite my tongue at the irony of her saying that while getting food at a Hispanic restaurant and just politely laugh it off.
It's almost Poe's Law sometimes honestly.
I go outside and socialize with other human beings, typically.

To them, the rights and protections afforded by the constitution only exist as a means to protect "true americans". People who don't "respect the country" aren't true americans.
Fox News has conditioned tens of millions of people to believe that the left is an existential threat. Everything we think about Trump and the GOP, they think about us. They feel justified in their belief because they feel we would do the same if the positions were reversed.
Their minds have been poisoned by decades of propaganda. The gangrene has long since set in.
