There used to be a franchise here. It's gone now
Silent Hill 1, 2 and 3 have a seriously special place in my life. I played The Room and quite enjoyed it, it certainly had that Silent Hill feel and the use of the room was honestly pretty awesome, they did a good job with a risk like that. The writing was always so amazing, the music, the setting. I remember speaking about it for hours with friends back when this stuff was coming out in playstation magazines (remember that?) First movie was passable, 2nd was deeply deeply shit. RIP one of the best horror franchises, I don't think we will see it's likes again, game devs are crazy shallow these days.
There used to be a game company behind it. It's gone too.
i think i'll give Origins a go after the video. I've tried homecoming and downfall and didn't get more than a few hours into them before I gave up. is it really the best non-team silent game?
least worst, with possible exception of shattered memories but that's down to taste
i actually liked shattered memories but totally agree it was flawed and is very far from my favourite silent hill game. it was a really nice interactive story
I still haven't found anything that comes close to Silent Hill. Siren had a lot of really great ideas but the way you had to play through the stages multiple times killed it for me
PULL THE LEVER
Shattered Memories was probably the best non-Silent Hill Team game probably because it didn't try and connect itself to anything and it wasn't pretentious enough to try.
AA and Indie devs are slowly growing and growing, I'm positive we will have another experience just as amazing, last few years had some fucking amazing releases that show what these people can do, it's only a matter of time now.
Speaking of which, has anyone played the new(ish) Resident Evil with a VR headset? I've been wanting to give it a try but haven't been able to afford a VR headset at all.
I don't even play Silent Hill but I've spent hours watching gameplay and speedruns
It only has support for the PSVR unfortunately.
Rising SuperStream has a great playthrough of it with PSVR, it looks really fun and spooky
