• Rust keeps shutting down my computer!

I went to reddit and they have not been able to help me yet. My problem is whenever I load into rust, at around 'finalizing world' it just shuts my computer down. It used to do this with fortnite but they fixed it and rust still does it. I haven't tried to many other games but none of them did it either. If anyone has a solution to fix this it would be greatly appreciated since wipe is tomorrow! (It has been shutting down for around a week now. Never did it before) SPECS: Rx 480, i7 7700k, 16 gb of ddr5 ram Already tried: Reinstalling rust, verifying game files, resetting my computer, and a couple other advanced computer things.
Maybe your PC is running out of memory.
What do you mean by that? I have 16 gbs of ram. Just recently got it as well.
Check your Task Manager to see if you go over 90% of memory usage while you're loading.
You mean DD4 memory of course, , DDR 5 is for GPU's which yours has 4gb of, What would they be ? Are you running a lot of programs in the background ? have you done a virus scan as you might have malicious programs running in the background .
Uhm just like file checking stuff and idk what else I did it was some weird things. I have the 8gb version of my card and yes I meant ddr4 ram. And yes I literally reset my computer like 1 day ago.
Its maybe lucky but the wipe is not till the 1st week of the month, How old is the hdd you are using or are you using a ssd card ? Your pc is easily a lot better than mine, faster i7, bigger and newer GPU , I have more ram but that is offset by your other components, i have never experienced this happening although I have had the "no response" pain in the "a" thing, Is it every server you are trying to join or the same one ? Have you checked your internet connection speed ? What kind of connection do you have ? But with all that I dont know why its shutting your computer down. Have you opened "Device manager" and checked that all your devices are working correctly ?.
Yes I have checked if everything is working and it is. My internet was only slow because I was using a wifi stick but now I'm back to an ethernet cable so its good. I have a pny 128 gb ssd card and a toshiba hdd. Also its every server I join I believe I've tried 3 different servers.
Pretty sure if it's a hard shutdown you should be looking at your power supply.
Yeah I think so as well but im not sure because I dont want to go out and buy a new power supply if its not the problem.
The card requires 166w so if you have a "normal" 600w power supply you should be ok, My (out of date) system has a 850w PSU as I would rather have too much than too little. Hardware in the US is much cheaper than it is here as we dont have "home grown" manufacturers of computer parts, it is all imported.
