wow who would have thought that a news company named after the perpetrators of the Armenian genocide would be racist
tit network
I’m not surprised, I used to watch them loyally and sometimes comments leaked through the editing and live streaming that sounded very... 'sketchy' to me. To at least reveal some serious underlying racial bias. After reading the acticle it feels like a bullshit human resources conflict though, but I’m no expert.
not, surprised tbh. TYT seemed pretty toxic as of recent years.
To give them at least some credit: the name is kind of the fault of the Turkish education system. They've so thoroughly propagandized history that the genocidal connotations are basically nonexistent in Turkey.
This excuse would hold up if they were still in school or didn't have access to the same info as us, but it's their job to inform global audience, so there's really no excuse
Must we always go through this ? Every time you guys call genocide name reasoning and yet. American Heritage Dictionary Entry 1. A member of a Turkish reformist and nationalist political party active in the early 1900s. 2. often young Turk a. A young progressive or insurgent member of an institution, movement, or political party. b. A young person who rebels against authority or societal expectations. Bolded for the brain dead.
I cannot unsee this now, what have you done.
Get them to wear a bra.
Cenk has written at least one published piece explicitly denying the Armenian genocide ever happened. This makes the name's context fairly evident, don't you think?
"In 1991 Uygur wrote an article on The Daily Pennsylvanian in which he promoted Armenian genocide denial.[18] He reiterated his position in a letter to the editor of Salon in 1999.[19] In a blog post in April 2016, he rescinded the statements. He went on to claim that he does not know enough today to comment on it.[20] As of 2017, his full acceptance of the term "genocide" was indicated in the main TYT program first on September 6 when he referred to it as the Armenian genocide[21] while discussing Myanmar's Muslim genocide, and then again in the main TYT program on November 29 while discussing the in court suicide of war criminal Slobodan Praljak, he again referred to it as the Armenian genocide twice." Could of done atleast a bit of research mate. It's a political meme nowadays. Also, in advance, since you're gonna say that "Well he did believe it at one point !" Well yes, any atheists might have believed that there is a God at some point and some people might have denied the holocaust because of how they were said. Either way, he accepts it.
Which is hilarious, because of his co-hosts is Armenian.
Genuine thanks, I hadn't kept up with him in the last few years so this is news to me.
