• PSU Gray Wire Voltage Test to Determine Fault
    0 replies, posted
Hey guys, got a quick question since I'm not sure if I should send my Seasonic S12II-620 Bronze for warranty. Recently I've had a lot of issues seeing life in my computer after trying to power it up using the power buttons on my tower or shorting the power pins on my motherboard. I decided to check my PSU with a digital multimeter using the usual paperclip test. Voltages on all outputs check out, however... The gray wire does not stay at a stable 5V after powering up the power supply unit. It jumps around from 0.1 to 5 V, never having a stable voltage. I assume this is why my computer powers on only randomly, sometimes 5 minutes after pushing the power switch. I can't find a straight-up answer regarding this. Thanks for any help.
