https://www.standard.co.uk/news/uk/uk-weather-forecast-latest-amazing-images-show-country-turning-brown-amid-unusually-dry-summer-a3891466.html Never thought I'd see the day where the UK is drying up, but you can definitely notice it in person too.
I never thought I'd have to buy a sprinkler. It feels so wasteful to just dump freshwater on my grass, but it's going to die if I don't at this point...
All the grass around my town has gone yellow.
Same thing happening over here too.
this is why i vote ukip
oh my god scotland and ireland are completely covered in snow
Protip: using a drip system wastes less water. Sprinklers send a lot of water into the air which never reaches your grass Another tip: grass is useless to grow
I don't think this is the type of brown ukip hates mate
*muffled screams*
Just get an air conditioner
UK without rain is like the US without fat people, its part of there national identity how does this happen
Please remember to water your Britons, without a damp and dreary atmosphere we, like the grass, will go crisp and lifeless.
Grass helps prevent soil erosion and provides an ecosystem for local animals to thrive on. That is, if your local HOA isn't a turgid bag of cocks and lets you grow your grass to its natural lushness.
Hahaha, it's so true. I live in a forest and it's incredibly forested and green and bushy where I live. Every summer things turn BROWN, it's the most depressing sight. I really do feel sorry for you guys, I'm accustomed to awfully long hot dry summers my whole life and even I want to have a slight breakdown when summer hits in full force. I can only imagine how horrible it must be over there at the moment. Oddly, right now down here we are having our coldest winter in over a decade in many places. The climate is just rooted.
Any Australians/Americans going to come in and tell is that their grass is browner.
My grass is greener

Earth is going to look gross as fuck in the future.
Now all u need is some eucalyptus trees :-) they do very well with little water !
spray paint it green then ffs its not hard
I feel your pain UK bros, it's not unusually dry here, but it's only rained like once for 5 minutes in the last 4 weeks. My whole lawn is brown. You can definitely tell the rich places from the poor places because of the perfect green grass or the brown dead stuff.
Any Britons going to come in and whine when anyone mentions experiencing a larger and more extreme temperature range?
Yup. It was 32C (~90 fahrenheit) yesterday where I live. I've gotten used to sub-20 or at most 20-25 during summer. I can't sleep, I will be the first to die.
It's gotten pretty bad in Norway aswell. Farmers will have a food shortage for their animals come winter, because of the bad grass harvests. Some have already started slaughtering their livestock.
Great, we can add it to the collection along with the 2010 snowpocalypse: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/5/5d/Great_Britain_Snowy.jpg/512px-Great_Britain_Snowy.jpg
I was under the impression that this has been happening in the UK for several years now.
tbh snow right now would be pretty badass. Arctic in Ireland - Australia on the other side of pond. Take a boat and enjoy both seasons.
Your lawn dreams it's as good as ours. Looks like we're shaping up for a turf war.
Meanwhile over here in southern utah it's flash-flooding all over the fucking place
I'm fucking crying at the galaxy-brain level thought that went into this wordplay holy fuck
