America by the definition of this video, has been under some form of fascist-type republic for quiet a long time. Stuff like the Civic Religion of America, where the founders are seen as deities, is in turn fascistic in nature.
Once our nation adopted the idea of Manifest Destiny, and several other concepts before that, its fair to say that we accepted that Civic Nationalist perspective. These will not disappear because we are more aware of fascism, if anything it's somewhat coded into the blood of our education system, our beliefs, ect.

Well I really think that could shift things towards fascism right? The big cheese has a lot of influence over how a country operates giving many opportunities to impose ideologies. I mean Hitler kind of did the same thing, people didn't necessarily start hating Jews right off the bat until they were brainwashed in to doing so.

I think it's really tempting to blame the ignorance, cruelty, and subservience of people on some guy but I think the more likely explanation is just that people are actually ignorant, cruel, and subservient
which is why Fascism has constantly attempted to disguise itself as "Non-fascism" or try to label other non-fascist/anti-fascist ideologies as fascist.
