Turning on my flashlight, in-game, freezes the screen. Help?

When I launch Garry's Mod everything is fine until I hit the F key. The screen freezes and I can't get it to unfreeze. To be clear, I can still walk around in-game but I can not see it when the screen is frozen. I'm not even close to being sure of whats causing it.

I've tried uninstalling all of my mods and uninstalling Garry's Mod. I reinstalled it, and when I had the base game with no mods the problem still occurred.

probably definitely hardware related, like it can't support the dynamic shadow on the flashlight.
What's your graphics card? Does it also happen with the Lamp tool in game?
You could also try updating your graphics card drivers too to be safe.
