Not a very good analogy. A better one would be if someone on SNL just started saying nigger and faggot and expected their audience to get that it was a parody, then later complained about being fined for language. He isn't banned for being a racist or a homophobe, he was banned for saying racist or homophobic things. I doubt "i was just pretending" has ever worked for getting someone out of trouble.
That said, Twitch really could have handled this better. If this was his first run-in he could have gotten a warning, but even if he did have to be banned the way they went about it with the VOD that he can't access because it was deleted is laughably incompetent.

It was just roleplaying but honestly he should have known not to do that role.
Plenty of others have been hit with by 30day suspensions for using bad words, Twitch been pretty anal about it with little room for context.

Twitch can ban whoever they want for whatever reason they want. It's their site, it's a privilege we have to use it or stream on it at will.
But if they're going to do that then they really need to enforce the shit equally across all streamers or not at all

Sure Twitch has it's own problems & they the way they handled this ban may not have been the best (30 days is too much imo), but trying to start a controversy & playing the victim here is just a dumb thing to do
100% agreed but like Talon said, they have to enforce their punishment equally. The video I've posted has several faggots in it, is a twitch clip, has over 300k views and is over a year old and they've done nothing.

I did watch the video, actually. Context really doesn't matter, the rule he broke doesn't say "don't be racist or homophobic," it's "don't say racist or homophobic things." A genuine belief makes no difference, and he should know that. He's just angry because he broke the rules and got called out on it, so fuck him.

That meme only applies if there is a genuine attempt to fool people into believing he is sincere to get a reaction out of people. If you apply it to just anyone acting stupid regardless of context then parody as a whole is dead.

I think zero tolerance rules have a place and that Twitch has an issue with equally distributing punishment. I have no problem with this particular punishment in this particular scenario since he clearly broke the rule, nor do I have a problem with "don't say racist or homophobic shit even ironically" as a rule.
The post you quoted, which I hope you fucking read, specified that his lack of genuine belief in what he said does not alter the rule's enforcement. I almost explicitly said that, because there is no genuine racist ideology behind what he said, there is a difference between being genuinely racist and ironically racist. However, given the wording of the rule through which he was punished, that difference doesn't fucking matter. Genuine or not, he still broadcast racist and homophobic statements, breaking Twitch's rule, resulting in his punishment.
