A landlord who made headlines by saying he was banning ‘coloured tenants’ because they left behind a ‘curry smell’ has new targets in his sights.
Fergus Wilson has warned he will evict single women who become pregnant and single mums with newborn babies.
The 69-year-old is one of the UK’s largest buy-to-let investors and owns hundreds of properties in Ashford and Maidstone in Kent.

TBF that does seem like a kind of bullshit arbitrary rule to make up. Either boilers should be fixed within four days, period; or they shouldn't. Single moms shouldn't get this special treatment.

Indeed. It's incredibly naive to even make up such a rule in the first place and not realize that it will immediately put the affected tenants at a severe disadvantage (why would any landlord want to rent to single moms when they're only gonna cost them more money?).
People like Fergus Wilson whose seemingly only purpose in life is to accumulate wealth are a dime a dozen, and if you don't keep that in mind while making these kinds of decisions then you're a moron.

I'm kind of two minds about this part of it after reading the article. My immediate reaction is the same as yours. That is bizarre and arbitrary, and only just serves to disadvantage the ability for single mothers find homes to rent. Like, even if a landlord isn't a massive cunt like this dude, it's hard to deny that such a limitation will impact ones consideration on a possible tenant.
On the other hand though, I think it's kind of a sweet policy. It shouldn't be enforced by the council as it is, but I like the sound of it in general. I think it's nice.

I can understand why, it is kinda BS to not apply such a rule universally. Cynically, it's probably the most effective way for him to "protest" and draw attention to it, we do love a bit of outrage. None of this makes him any less of an absolute mong for doing it though. If landlords actually gave 1/10th of a shit about tenants as they do their bottom lines there wouldn't have to be such a rule in the first place.
