US Treasury open to lifting sanctions on Russian aluminum company

The U.S. Treasury is open to removing Russian aluminum producer Rusal
from a U.S. sanctions list, Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said on
Friday, adding the objective was “not to put Rusal out of business.”
The U.S. Treasury in April imposed sanctions against billionaire Oleg
Deripaska and the eight companies in which he is a large shareholder,
including Rusal, in response to what it called “malign activities” by
Russia. But the sanctions caused havoc in the global aluminum market,
prompting several countries and companies to successfully lobby Treasury
for a softening of the terms on Rusal.

Absolute toughest on russia
Corruption, corruption everywhere, as far as the eye can see.
How about lifting sanctions on Canada before Russ--oh wait I forgot I'm talking to Putin's cumrag, not a US President.
Why? How does saving the fortunes of an oligarch advance american interests at the expense of all of our allies?

I fail to see how American interests are in any way relevant to the current administration
I don't even need my glasses to see it
this company has essentially grown so large that it can't be sanctioned without affecting global supply chains but its operations are almost completely within Russia, they probably should never have been allowed to consolidate the couple large european smelters and mines they do own
This seems perfectly legitimate. I'm sure this has reasons that are wholly unrelated to Tinyhands' cozying up to Putin and many connections to Russian oligarchs
Seriously how can anyone look at the actions of this administration consistently taken over the last two years and not suspect at least maybe something just a tiny bit fucky is going on is beyond me. At this point it takes a concentrated, dedicated effort of willful ignorance to not harbor any suspicions. They're not even hiding it, they're stopping just short of proclaiming it loudly from the rooftops. Russian state media is openly bragging that Tinyhands belongs to them
because the democrats oppose him thus the republicans have to support him.
back in my day, this used to be all oranges!
now its corruption
