Contrary to popular belief, our weed policy is actually kind of fucking retarded. Everything's technically illegal but recreational use is tolerated while growing it for distribution isn't. Liking a language or not is subjective obviously, but Dutch people saying our own language sucks always strikes me as a bit infantile. I mean, that's what I said when I was 13 and trying to be edgy. I guess it does fit the Dutch spirit, though.
Weed is not legal here, but it has been government policy since the 70's to 'tolerate' certain shops (the famous coffeeshops) selling certain amounts and users having a certain amount of plants or grams of weed. This was very progressive at the time, but with other countries starting to legalize weed entirely it can't really be called very progressive anymore.
