A couple of dudes with supposed history and experience in calligraphy and handwriting analysis went about and did their thing with pictures of the receipt, concluding that they were written by two different people based on things such as right/left orientation, writing angle, style etc. They were initially of course completely bombed by the knee jerkers. After it turned out to be a hoax, things have been awfully quiet.
Media, as per usual, didn't really do much to rectify their blunder. Mostly quietly edited headlines after the damage was done.
