https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-44935152 Here is the especially fucked up part: With less than half of Japan's public schools equipped with air conditioning, government spokesman Yoshihide Suga said the summer holidays could be extended to protect pupils.
Fucking hell Japan can't take a break this summer isn't it?
The heatwave closely followed torrential rain This but in the span of 12 hours and you have Melbourne
Dear god, where the hell is there NOT a heat wave?
Hell. It's not a wave if it's constant.
Nowhere apparently, if you read the article: Where else has experienced severe heat? Greece is in the grip of deadly wildfires as soaring temperatures continue across much of Europe In Sweden at least one person has been killed and dozens more injured by forest fires. Hot weather and persistent drought have seen wildfires raging as far north as the Arctic Circle Neighbouring Norway experienced its hottest May temperatures on record and has also suffered forest fires Parts of the UK are also experiencing a prolonged heatwave and the government has issued a "heat-health watch" alert in the east and south-east of England Cities across eastern Canada suffered a deadly heatwave in early July, with at least 70 deaths in Quebec province alone A heatwave in Southern California saw record-breaking temperatures in some areas including a sweltering 48.9C (120F) in Chino, outside Los Angeles Reports from Algeria say that Africa's hottest ever recorded temperature was registered in the northern city of Ouargla on 5 July - 51.3C (124.3F) Did you really forget or not hear about the severe rain disaster we just had?
Anywhere that's not being affected by global warming. So Mars, I guess.

I swear to fucking God, why does someone always have to come up in these threads and state that "X place is hotter". We know. It's not some grand revalation. I don't pop up on murder threads like "aye but it's not quite H. H. Holmes' murder mansion is it".
haha yeah http://puu.sh/B2gcz.png
getting really tired of every thread about extreme heatwaves having some fucker stroll in and go "oh well where I live it's a thousand gajillion degrees hot 24/7, all those people dying of heat stroke are just lightweights." other countries not sharing the standard climate as yours is a concept you're capable of understanding, right?
I can see why all the Aussies are touring the states. Also isn't it technically winter there right now?
I'm chilling out on the Sun bitch, get on my fucking level, god you're such a beta fag.
yes it is technically reverse summer in the southern hemisphere.
In Finland its 30°c and i am dying its the hottest summer ever in here during my life its seriosly interesting how people get used to diffrent weathers
man, the chinese are taking this conspiracy really far, i bet they've got orbital weather machines that are roasting everywhere to make all this fake warming of the globe. all the more reason why we need a space force and to close all schools and hospitals, and tax all non-CEO wages 100% to pay for it /s
With less than half of Japan's public schools equipped with air conditioning Oh no what a nightmare I don't think I've seen a single public school equipped with air conditioning ever
That's great, we're all happy for you. Except the people dying from the heatwaves. I don't think your relative climate is all that important to them.
I've worked an office job in a room that went up to 40 degrees celsius with all curtains drawn before, so ehhhhhh
And? Have you worked in a volcano? Obviously complaints about and troubles with heat are only valid if they are the utmost extreme circumstances.
so much for global warming being fake it's been almost two months since we had some rain over here
No-one fucking caaaaaaaaaaares
yes we know your continent is death incarnate.
As someone from a very humid and tropically hot country where almost every area averages at 34+C heatwaves are no joke, doesn't matter if you feel like those temps are nothing, it's because you're used to them, and even then, just because you feel 'fine' with those temps doesn't mean it isn't dangerous to be there for extended periods of time without any form of cooling or air conditioning. I'm used to them and I still think they're terrible, and heat strokes are actually still a thing people suffer from here despite having constant high temp summers for half a year or more. Another thing to take note is how every place is different in terms or architecture and if they prioritize absorbing heat or providing a cooler interior. That's why whenever places get a drastic weather change, both outside and inside are unpractical to stay on for extended periods simply because they're not built for that sudden change in climate.
You might just be hunky dory when it's hot, but it's not healthy young adults who are seriously at risk when heatwaves come. It's the ill, it's the elderly, it's children, babies, and infants. People who are already vulnerable. When vulnerable people in places without air conditioning experience heat waves people die.
Climate change is not just increased heat, its unstable climate too. So you have areas getting much more wild weather, like the US with hurricanes back to back to back.
played fortnite with my japanese friends earlier and all i could hear over the mics was air conditioners lol. Tokyo seems to be bearable (?) but it's always the old people that are most at risk with this kind of thing
I was going to say this too. I think there was an article somewhere, it discussed how storm cycles are developing quicker then historical averages. Not only that, but climate change makes these storms stronger as well. Because of climate change, such a storm evolved from a once in every 100 years event to a once in every 16 years event over this time period. Hurricanes and Climate Change | Union of Concerned Scientists It's a real concern and to anyone who denies climate change is an ignorant fool or a sell out piece of shit (or both).
I work in a retail store in Sweden and it's so hot that we've sold out of ac's and fans since a few weeks ago and no store in Sweden has any. It's hell. I'm not made for 35c which feels like 40+ in the sun.
not only that but there's also the fact it makes the weather extremely volatile, i.e. 8 degrees celcius when it should be 25, or 15 degrees celcius when it should be 0 degrees celcius, or differing 15 degrees within just three days
