I tried making poached eggs today and I just ended up with a pot of hot water and fucked up egg feelsbadman
Ramsay has always had that position on eggs I don't understand it.. He wants to be able to suck up an entire egg through a straw! I have always preferred a crispy exterior and a fluffy interior.
That's exactly how poached eggs are supposed to be.
A runny poach isn’t for everyone, it’s a good dip for toast or bread or whatever soaks it up. Medium poach is acceptable, semi runny but some texture to it. Go no further though.
I'm a bit of an oddball in that I prefer my eggs runny. I'll typical substitute scrambled for Sunny side up or poached. I don't like the texture of scrabbled eggs. Seems like most people default eggs to scrabbled.
YOU FUCKING DONKEY
I prefer my eggs to be runny, so the bread can soak up the juice.
Depends on those scrambbledz yo. How do you make your scrammbledz? If you make it in the microwave, the easiest, fastest way ever. Don't make it right though. Get that shit in a frying pan, low to medium heat, right? As the egg cooks you gotta take your favorite cooking utensil and start to give it that little something something, you all know what I mean. Give it a little movement, this shit ain't an omelette . A good 5 minutes of this on a good...low burn will you the texture of a fried egg with appearance of a naked greek godess, take your pick, whatever your favourite. Wait, you weren't gonna add a pinch of salt to that? Yeh, that's right, a pinch of salt on any egg is a must, especially the yoke, and unsalted yoke is like most of my posts. Completely and utterly tasteless. Dayumn.
Do people put eggs in the microwave...?
I've seen it done for scrambled, works, just takes away the taste.
Not a great word unless it's on the triple word score, tbh. Yes, but it's rather lazy and you will end up with an inconsistent texture. They tend to lose a lot of the moisture you'd get if you fried them.
The perfect poached egg is liquid yolk that is viscous enough to not run down when cut through.
A runny egg some bacon and toast is the best breakfast
am i the only one that can't do runny eggs? i have to have them well done
I've never seen the appeal, every time I overcook and egg I honestly consider myself a failure.
If I wanted liquid eggs I'd just crack one open and eat it raw
I was expecting this to be a YTP edit but this is a much more interesting thread
What a stupid thing to say
Going into the thread I knew there were only going to be two options - either it'll be hilarious, or it'll be delicious.
I used to think this way, that runny eggs were gross, then one day I decided to try it and now it's the only way I like my eggs. Just make an over easy egg, put it on toast, add some sriracha, easy 5 minute breakfast.
For the longest time when i was a kid my parents told me runny eggs were gross and would order me overhard/fried, then one time at a friends their parents made overeasy and i have basically only eaten overeasy or sunny side up since ESPECIALLY with eggs benedict it needs to be runny. I couldn't imagine a hard egg with benedict.
Different cooked eggs have their place. It's not a southern breakfast if you don't have a ridiculous portion of scrambled eggs, a crispy fried egg is great on a breakfast sandwich, and a runny egg is great with a simple piece of toast.
