I don't know what it is about these games, but they always manage to feel like magic. When I first played Underground 2 as a kid and saw the graphics/atmosphere for the first time, I was absolutely blown away; and that has continued with pretty much every one I pick up. The 2015 game, for all its flaws, gave me much of that same feeling, and although the new one kinda failed to give that sense of awe, I still had tons of fun with that too.
Still hoping for this series to make an amazing comeback. I've been playing these games since the original Road and Track game, and it's been real interesting to see how dramatically it's changed over the years.
I still think Hot Pursuit 2010 was the series' last big hurrah. It was a tribute to classic NFS, i.e. supercars racing in picturesque scenic roads with cops, and done really well. That game is what I imagine a classic NFS game looking like if it was today. Sadly everything since then has been at best only okay. With EA's current trajectory it's hard to imagine this series coming back in a big way.
The Most Wanted game from 2012 wasn't that bad either, it was basically a watered down Burnout game.
New one already has too much talking, I'm only 16 seconds into the video and the people speaking need to just shut up.
Also why can't they get the E46 to sound correct? In Need For Speed (2015) and Payback, it sounds generic, as opposed to the badass sound it's basically known for.
With no content, chump police, and a name that belongs to another, much better game.
