For some reason windows keeps resetting the advanced configuration on the energy settings, specifically on the Processor power management, I change the settings but shortly afterwards they reset back to 100% CPU speed

(these advanced options)
Anyone have any idea why does it keep doing this?
If you are on power saver mode, it will keep itself at min power usage so you CPU would be reset. On the other hand if it is putting itself on power saver mode by itself then I am not sure, never encountered that before
No the thing is, I am already at power saver mode, but the min and max power settings of the CPU reset themselves to 100% for some reason

No matter how many times I've changed it, it keeps doing it, worse even is that its on the battery mode so I get kinda shit battery life (its a bit degraded too)
If this has happened recently you could try a system restore and see how that goes, before this problem arose. You might also have a virus which is eating up you CPU and resetting it to 100% so just to be safe I would do a thorough scan just in case
Well on the battery I've only noticed it today, although it sometimes it messed with the AC setting, it would go to 100% when I have it at 99%
Ill do some scans with Malwarebytes and Windows defender
Remember that the CPU clock is meant to go low since the min power state is set to 5%, thats not the problem, the problem is the Min-Max resetting itself for no reason
Now it hasn't reset but the CPU clock still goes to 2.3
The fact that the CPU clock is changing all the time leads me to believe it could be a virus, they use a tonne of CPU usage and can change the settings
If that is the case then Malwarebytes should be able to to get rid of it.
If that is not the case then I would guess either software you have that you are unaware of (depending of course on how long this has been happening), could be a windows update or a hardware issue < Hopefully hardware isn't the issue though because laptops are a nightmare to work with from my own experience
So far malwarebytes hasn't found a thing
It's probably some bug introduced in a windows update, I have noticed my battery life is a bit iffy ever since 1803 so it's probably been happening since then
More than likely, laptops can be a nightmare to work with. Sorry I couldn't be of more help but at least I tried. Hope your issue gets resolved on its own, possibly in another update
Hopefully, had a fair share of bugs already on W10 that got mysteriously fixed in an update
Like that one bug where the Shell Experience Host would eat up my ram
I had a weird but where I would have to Ctrl+Alt+Delete when windows started and run "explorer.exe" since it would not open by itself. That was annoying but it did get sorted in an update. Windows 10 is some ride huh
Yep Malwarebytes didnt find a thing, I'll see if Windows Defender spots a thing
