Well, it took a few years, but something good as finally come out of TTG.
please for the love of god don't let it be a ruse my crops are dying
Tara Strong wasn't lying. Holy fuck.
Is it just me or did that teaser just imply that the Teen Titans in Teen Titans GO took over the original Teen Titans in-universe?
Why do I have the feeling they are gonna make it exclusive to the streaming app they are trying to push.
holy shit please don't fuck it up please don't fuck it up please don't fuck it up please don't fuck it up
Apparently the movie is surprisingly great.
From watching the show periodically (since my TV is basically only used for Adult Swim and background noise), the bad guy Control Freak used his evil tech powers to cancel and reboot the Teen Titans into a more pleasing form, which he immediately regretted, so he could win an Oscar or something. The show lampshades the change in tone for the new series compared to the old a lot. I'm too lazy to change the channel so unfortunately I've seen a number of shitty episodes but occasionally they have something passable, but it's obvious I'm not the audience for the show.
Yeah heard the movie itself was surprisingly good too, and is filled with a lot of self-awareness and refreshing light-hearted comedy-action, and has a good amount of gags that poke fun at superhero comics and movies in general Kiddy and toilet humor is still present but it isn't as pronounced like in the series https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/58209/79f8b5c7-cb12-4806-9fc2-d59eecfa22c6/image.png
I always felt the creators behind TTG were a good group who know what they're doing. The thing people really get uppity about is the fact it replaced a beloved franchise, it plays all the time stamping out other shows, and the target demographic is really young kids.
Seems like the creators are a good group but they’re held back by CN/Time Warner trying to make quick bucks. There’s a few hints throughout the show that seem to point at that from what I’ve seen
I'm waiting for the day the TTG team just goes all-out, like Pinky, Elmyra, & the Brain did. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=07TicoKEC10 Now Pinky and the Brain Share a new domain It's what the network wants *as they're kicked out of the WB Administration building* Why bother to complain?
Doesn't help that CN decided to put Teen Titans GO in basically every time slot, any other cartoon would've gotten the hate treatment in its place.
There was an episode where they saw clips from the orignal show and even they agreed that it was better.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Cvq6nHCXzw It's a bit on the nose about it too
On one hand, this is pretty good news. On the other hand, I remember the last few shows revived by Cartoon network.
Last one I remember was samurai jack and that was utterly incredible
I won't try to be a contrarian, I loved the series returning and the first half of the final season. But the second half.. not so much. And FLCL Progressive kind of shat the bed for me too.
whos the fucking douchebag that can clearly see there's a credit scene happening and just stands up and starts to leave lol I dont know why the entire theater leaving after the 49th comic movie to have post credit scenes seems to bother me when I go see them but cmon this one was ridiculous like he was waiting for a credit scene just to leave, and he messed up the shot ontop of it
I can't wait for this, I hope it is a season six and not some weird one-off episode
Samurai jack tried to tell several seasons of story in one season. It did alright I thought, though
I've been following the art director for a while before teen titans go started. His art style is basically the reason I can't fully hate the show.
i find it absolutely hilarious that people bitch and complain about TTG for years and its the sole reason that the regular teen titans even has a chance at a continuation
You're not allowed to take my nostalgia and make it someone else's nostalgia, you obviously don't understand how important I am to both society and reality. That said, subverting a property 100% usually never goes well, and TTG was no exception. CN compounded the problem to tectonic levels by their inane policy on ratings first and linear visibility, and their rationale of "we need to show something on the network itself even though 80% of kids watch in an app or through their pads/phones so it's just going to be 13 hours TTG every day" is not only monumentally crass and lazy, it starts to reinforce the notion that's all TTG was. TT-CN creators were all onboard with TTG, TT original character and comic creators were all onboard with TTG, and both have actually either contributed or come back to mainline production of the property, and nobody died and nobody has their childhood memories of much better show erased or replaced. IF CN had actively tried to get rid of the original show, I'd see the point of the constant vitriol. This isn't a case like ME or Tomb Raider or Naughty Dog where there's an active campaign by the people making content to change their fanbase or exclude anyone via shit logistical or political decisions. Old people like TT, young people like TTG and now they get to coexist just fine.
I've seen very, very, very little of TTG, and I used to hate it out of principle, but I know I'm not the intended audience and everything I've seen of it over the years tells me that it is very self aware; clearly written by people who appreciated the original.
CN should hand over OG Teen Titans to adult swim/williams street
Don't forget Pinky and the Brain and Larry! https://youtu.be/VorIn2ISK6w
