EDF is my favorite series of bad games
The basic gameplay concept is stupid fun and they have so much charm

Its so odd that they are releasing two games at the same time. Especially since Iron rain looks so much better.
EDF 5 already came out late 2017 in Japan. Iron Rain doesn't come out until 2019 and Iron Rain is sort of a new shift for them where it's a bit more serious and slow paced (as far as the EDF formula goes).
Also Japanese developers in general work fast. Like for another example the Yakuza series always managed to do annual releases despite having spinoffs, generational jumps and remakes between development.
