The good news is that this strain didnt mutate to become resistant to existing methods of management. The bad news, of course, is the fact that it's displaying very rapid progression compared to an ordinary infection of HIV.
On the other hand it can probably be detected sooner, thus making it harder to unknowingly spread.
So super AIDS is an actual thing now?
It also means that since it shows symptoms sooner it's less likely to be transmitted.
That depends on the epidemiology, as shown here. Under the right conditions it can spread just as rapidly, but yes, early detection still applies.
