Here we go, the tariffs are starting to affect consumer products. Trade war supporters would've probably been less in support of the tariffs if they'd known from the start that the practical effect on tariffing imports is a consumer tax.
"Oh, knock it off with the nonsense. None of what he's doing is effecting you." -Trump supporter. Enjoy the added hole in your wallet from all the caffeinated drinks your slurp every day.
Well personally I am a Pepsi fan luckily.
The day where Pepsi ups its price is coming - and coming soon.
Tudd can afford it, the working class Trump supporters can't.
Pepsi is not exempt from the tariffs, so good luck with that
It don't effect me!!!! Make Merica Great again, yee yee! slurps piss bud light
Ha I love how your entire thought on the matter is just "I like Pepsi tho." I laughed. https://i.imgur.com/Z1khfsH.jpg
Well as long as it isn't personally affecting you right?
This was all a ploy to improve health
On the other hand, maybe this will get people to stop drinking this stuff - it's terrible for you. It might serve as a good insensitive to try something better and tastier than Coke. Like Dr. Pepper
It likely begin affecting in my county's food lion prices on Dr.Pepper and other soft drink sales. Pepsi and Coke are just soda version of lesser of evils. So no thanks, I preferred Dr.Pepper and its counterparts.
Good thing I only drink home made 190 proof grain alcohol.
me too wait someone send help i've gone blind
>Make product in America >Raises prices for Americans
I'll keep right on drinking it on the basis that I enjoy the taste.
youll cowards dont eben drink rubbing alchol
I bet you guys don't even heat your heroin in a saucepan then drink that shit with a tall can of monster with a shot of 5 hour energy drink
Oh shit, is that a new 4 Loko flavor?
I mostly through out that statement because it was funny, but honestly I think Trump is doing pretty good overall. Getting the EU to back down on their tariffs is an overall win and shows that just the threat of a trade war has leverage in negotiation.
Take two seconds to recall who you are. You say such moronic things on a very regular basis that it's difficult to differentiate between stupid joke and retarded comment.
I went to Walmart today and I guess the prices have already taken effect, it's made a whole 12-pack of Coca-Cola go from around $4.68 (or $4.88? I do remember the dollar amount at least) to $7.88. I can get plenty of off-brand colas some of which use cane sugar for less than half that price in a 12-pack at a couple of grocery stores nearby. It's nice to see that companies can get away with offloading it's costs to the consumer, turn around, and then just leave it to everyone else to solve the problem while doing nothing to find cost cutting measures.
Except there has been zero actual details and facts released about any potential trade deal with the EU. The only thing Trump has said is that the US is going to make a deal. No deal has been actually made. And on top of that, the EU's demands will not replace what was lost with China's markets closed off by tariffs. This whole "the EU has saved the US economy" is barely even a soundbite.
There's no way all of that came from the price increase in the raw material. From what I could Google, 12 packs of 375ml Coca-Cola cans would weigh about 180g, or almost 0.4 pounds. Basically all types of aluminium I could find are at less than a dollar per pound right now. Since I've been rounding up the weights to be pessimistic, I'll round up the cost per pound to a dollar. So the 12-pack of Coca-Cola would contain $0.40 worth of aluminium right now. We'd have to 3-4x the current price to get a 3 USD change. Someone's getting a big slice of pie somewhere in the middle there.
You're daft if you think a company as large as Coca-Cola hasn't already been using "cost cutting measures". Most companies don't even bother with real sugar anymore because of cost. What are they going to cut? Are they going to start using a watered down recipe? Use less alumimum and have fragile cans? Stop painting the cans? Change the shipping schedules so that less deliveries are made? Or how about just cut worker salaries. Raising prices is the easy way out, for more than one reason.
Admittedly, if the price DOES go up, i'll just stop buying soda/anything in metal cans and therefore drink soda less. While it sucks that it's happening, it does have a notable benefit for people who are willing to stop drinking soda due to price.
It's not Coke's fault that Trump made producing Coke more expensive...
You know I never heard these literal knockoff, they don't make these anymore since 4 years ago due over failed lawsuit. But regardless. I unintentionally get you permanent ban Tudd Flanders.
The cans are made of aluminum affected by the tariffs, this will affect anything thats in cans, even if the drink itself is mixed/filled in the US. Same with any ingredients that are imported. As they apparently don't make the cans outside the US only US is affected because there are no trump tariffs in the EU importing metal from Asia.
