https://youtu.be/DTWYQhTT388 I saw this movie for the first time a few days ago.. and this scene made my skin crawl. The part where the guy gets pulled down by the barnacle things is absolute nightmare material. Wanted to share.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SOMKnhN7ABs Peter Jackson also recreated the scene this was based on from the original movie, sadly it's now lost to time because audiences were so terrified of it.
Thanks for reminding me of this nightmarish scene.
I think what makes it so bad is the almost complete lack of dialogue and very little music in it. Just cuts between people in miserable situations.
I'll never forget the day Andy Serkis was swallowed by giant penises.
2005 King Kong is so underrated. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P33u7en-qVU This scene is still really badass, the CGI in some scenes is very wack but otherwise I really like this film tbh.
that's a funny thumbnail. https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/107213/d4216ec4-3204-43f5-beb2-5a2ab0c23551/imagen.png
While nowhere near as creepy, the giant spider scene in Kong: Skull Island should get an honorable mention. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ShedxoIayyM
Just so you know those worms (barnacle things) are probably blood worms or something very close to it.
If I was ever in this scenario, I'd probably just eat a gun, fuck that.
I may actually have to watch this film now. The droning music was weird to hear in a pretty modern film, in a scene like this you'd usually have an over dramatic score as if to say "Our heroes are in danger but look at them go" where as the simple tones really made you feel like everyone was fucked, as if there's nothing exciting or action packed about what is happening, it's just nature taking it's course. Although the bit where he was shooting the bugs off was pretty dumb, Adrian Brody would be swiss cheese by the end of that.
The score is good as hell. It really captures some of the art deco themes the movie has on display.
Holy fucking shit that bamboo-leg visual is great.
That makes sense now that I think about it. Doesn't help me conquer my nightmares tho.
Thanks for posting this. I had this scene buried in the back of my for years, but thanks to you it has now resurfaced. Let the nightmares of 9 year old me begin anew.
holy fuck 3:33 in that video is one of the best camera moments i've ever seen in a movie what a way to play with the information the movie has given you
the scene is unsettling enough by itself but it's such a shift in tone and pace to the rest of the film which imo makes it spookier, whenever i think of 2005 king kong i immediately think of this scene
Blotted science did something awesome with this scene https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gKkn-YjYmCA
Is there a word for when something terrifying gives you an unsettling feeling in your groin that isn't arousal?
I know exactly what you mean. It's like a negative boner.
As others have said, the 2003 Kong is really something. While it's bloated and self-indulgent, it really paints a neat picture and its ambition pays off in my eyes. The mining of the original and the 70's film really showed up in scenes like this.
just think of how many primates had to be mauled in the middle of beating off for you guys to have evolved a fear response in your dicks
The first video is nasty
It's your dick trying to escape back inside your body
Well think about it, when primates like Chimps attack, they go for the face and the groin. Makes sense in evolutionary terms.
Guy with the tommygun is a god among marksmen
As a asian person, I wonder what those worms taste like
do you think this hurt? https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/110042/815ce2dd-304e-4dd0-8a8a-68bd5d30b9ff/Screen Shot 2018-07-31 at 12.51.05 PM.png
More likely, they were just crushing him. You know, skin sloughing off, blood vessels popping like balloons, bones fracturing and then being ground into the muscles, regular stuff.
Just when I thought his death couldn’t get any worse lol
