https://www.pcgamer.com/amp/portal-2-co-writer-jay-pinkerton-seems-to-be-back-at-valve/ Perhaps in a few years we'll finally see the seventh Team Fortress comic.
I presume he'll be put to work on some of the new games Valve is working on. If only it'd be that simple considering the organization (or the lack of) at Valve.
Sounds pretty organized if veterans who have previously left the company are getting involved once again tbh
From his bio on Valve's site "Prior to joining Valve, Jay ping-ponged around the industry working with very nice people on games that were worked very hard on and then shelved forever." The sheer gall
"He thoroughly enjoyed this experience and looks forward to continuing it at Valve"
Valve is like the myth of the late Roman Empire where they became too fat and gluttonous on their own success and slowly withered and died due to the degeneracy that comes with sloth and hubris while being torn to pieces by germanic warlords cucking them and raping their northern territories while they sat back and watched in masturbatory ecstasy
This sounds like it was written by somebody very bitter.
why would he wanna go back to that place
Still one more TF comic issue, plus they've been hiring writers a bit more often then usual recently.
This my take of this? The late Roman Empire is like the myth of Valve Corporation where they became too fat and gluttonous on their own success and slowly withered and died due to the degeneracy that comes with sloth and hubris while being torn to pieces by video gaming competitors like EA or Bethesda cucking their virtual store to them permanently distracted and stealing their fanbase while they sat back and watched in masturbatory money before its too late
That's exactly what I was thinking
The only reason I'm happy about this is because it means we might actually get the conclusion to the TF2 comic. That's all I'm really interested in from Valve going forward. Chell's story is done, we at least know how Gordon Freeman's story was going to end (and it's a fucking brilliant ending) - once the Mercs get their sendoff, I'll be satisfied.
Those are literally the same thing
I think he meant like, virtual novel visual novels, but yeah.
Coincidence? I think not! /s https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/112976/4fac1fcd-3695-49eb-8ea0-dd9d682fcf51/Screenshot_1.png
People leaving Valve temporarily just because they don't have anything to work on atm is definitely a thing, and I can't remember where I got that idea from but it's been in the back of my mind every time news about a writer leaving pops up.
If they leave it's not like they can't come back. There would be no reason not to hire them again. Hell, even Marc Laidlaw called Valve his second family.
Thats great, now I'm sure we will see the final issue of that Team Fortress comic within 2-3 years at most!
