Technically there is no crime for 'colluding' but we've known that the whole time and have always known when the Law comes knocking on Trump's door it will be for crimes such as Defrauding the United States.
The act of colluding, in and of itself, likely isn't illegal per sè. The actions required to collude with the Russian government to influence the presidential election, however, are absolutely illegal for the most part.
Of course he's not sure. He'd need to consult his own attorney first to be certain he's not saying anything self-incriminating.

Remember that Giuliani isn't just a stupid idiot's stupid idiot of a lawyer, he's also an active participant in the Trump Russia conspiracy. He's doing everything he can to damage the investigation's credibility and legitimacy and to weaken the population's appetite for criminal charges and impeachment because he knows that the President is absolutely guilty of high crimes and misdemeanors hundreds of times over.
It's like he looked at Trump always managing to top his own stupidity and went 'you know....'
So in the past year, we've gone from:
1) It never happened
2) There's no evidence of it
3) The evidence is fake
4) The evidence isn't enough to prove it
5) We thought we'd destroyed that evidence
6) The evidence only proves some people in the campaign tried to collude, nobody in charge authorized anything
7) People high in the campaign were involved but Trump had nothing to do with it
8) Even if Trump does get implicated, it wasn't technically illegal
(Omitted for brevity: "what about ____" and "the real colluders were the filthy libs!" at basically every step)
I'm having trouble thinking of how they can spin it any further. "Trump might have committed crimes but they aren't worth impeaching over"?
The next step is probably going to be "Trump might have colluded and committed crimes, but we're in charge now and you can't touch us so deal with it."
What I'm seeing is even worse than that. I'm seeing republican senators saying 'ok, so even if we did collude with Russia: is that so bad?'

Yeah I don't think there is a legal definition for collusion but there is one for Conspiracy and Obstruction of Justice.
