Yeah if he really help, the first thing he aught to do was remove the content and sought help. He was hell bent on self-destruction that he'd rather blame outside forces. We all go through shit in our lives, some are hard to handle, but the least he could have done is wipe the content and seek professional help. Shutting himself in and thinking he wouldn't be caught is destructive behavior that will only harm himself and the kids as he shares them with others and keeping them.
The main thing that pisses me off about CP and this goes for anything like Coke or Heroin is the effect its having on millions of other people.

That's one way to look at it. I sometimes forget to factor that these mental disorders are hard to combat by yourself so I see what you mean. Hope the guy survives in there, and hopefully something good happens when he does get out and seeks to fix what's going on.
The problem with "get help" in this context is that the second you admit to having a problem like that, your life is damaged almost beyond repair.
That's because you're supposed to get help before you go making the mega stash.
Regardless of whether or not you save any child porn, even alluding to defending someone sexually interested in children immediately makes you a monster.
If you want help, you have to admit it's something you're into first. Doing that in any social setting will guaranteed fuck your life over in any social circle outside of the most accepting and kind groups, at least in America. Don't know how it is in the rest of the world, but being attracted to children = irredeemable child rapist for most people.
It's a lose lose situation having this kind of mental illness, because you either fuck yourself over by being caught down the line by consuming this kind of content or get fucked over by admitting it and trying to get help. It puts anyone in this kind of predicament in a hard situation because it's something they do need serious help with, but it's asking them to play Russian roulette just for the chance of getting said help.
None of them goes to get help because most of time people get reported instantly even if they just mention being pedo to Psychiatrist or Therapist, but thats because there are laws that you need to report person if you think they might be danger to minors, and if you don't and they do something, you can get charged for it.
And most of shrinks/therapists wouldn't want to take a risk and just report right away

Except the best therapists will take anyone in regardless of their situation. It's stuff like this is why people do legit WANT to see help don't see help; they fear all the backlash and all of the large amounts of seething anger that it puts them in a scary spot because of social standings. Good psychologists are bound ethically to keep the business in your head discussed with them classified unless something happens that can be costly ie someone confesses to wanting to murder someone. Unless the patient is considering doing harmful behavior that endangers others or the people within the room, all info should be considered confidential.

That's kind of fucked. Videos should be measured by duration, not frames. You could half the number of images in your possession just by reducing the framerate of the videos.
