I still feel like it's not really fair to put the Tidus laugh in there as an example of bad voice acting because that scene is meant to be awkward, stupid, and forced. It's not really incompetence in that regard. There's plenty of better, less memorable examples of bad voice acting in the game.
The Japanese version is about the same except Tidus sounds like a crow.

I agree, its like he's the only "video essay" youtuber in the gaming sphere who actually loves games, and is passionate about them. He has minor critiques throughout his videos, but generally they have an overall positive message and love for for the medium.
I hate this motherfucker with a passion, his videos are literally a wrapper for wikipedia articles. It's insane how low-effort he is.
AND AS ALWAYS THIS VIDEO IS THE START OF A DIALOGUE EBRBRBRBRBRBRBRBRBRBRBRBR

I have a sneaking suspicion that NakeyJakey is an avid watcher of retsupurae. Do yourself a favor and watch their videos of Deep Fear and Last Alert for that wonderful, low-budget schlock.
I'm so happy he mentioned The House of the Dead 2.
I played that game religiously, and that god awful voice acting is probably what got me into enjoying bad movies.

I like that even after all these years Resident Evil has retained its cheesy voice acting. Sure it's gotten better over the years, but it still has that charm to it.
Jakey talks in the same mannerisms and inflections as one of my best friends so I've always enjoyed watching him, and even then it's definitely a good approach to the whole video essay genre.
I never understand why people don't get that. It was pretty obvious that in that context he's supposed to be doing this cheesy laugh to embarass both himself and Yuna who told him to laugh. That way it gets them both to laugh in a grnuine manner because of how goofy it was.

I love the hour long reviews of games that are just recapping the entire plot/playthrough and then saying whether they liked it or not
