Beautiful work! Very well composed, it looks like one of those paintings that i would hang on my wall and just stare at it with every morning coffee! Great work my man!
I love what you're doing with the sky in your recent works, and how everything, including the trees and grass, is tilted along with the rock formation, as if the rocks themselves were bent by the wind
The sky is surprisingly enough, just painted with brushes. I started with broad brushes with low hardness and kept getting more detail in with each layer. The mat_mipmatptexture is a really good command. Made a lot of the small bushes in the rocks instantly pop by the way.
I am in love.
I feel like the negative space is effective as-is, it works wonderfully with the rock formations. The birds would've been an unnecessary detail that do nothing but take away from the picture's focus. In terms of the picture - dude. I'm really loving the ambient shadows built up in the cracks and crevices of the rocks and the blue tones across the surfaces. I've got a couple small problems being that 1. the left foreground elements look a little too basic and clash with the detail and sharpness of the rocks and the varied vegetation on the right, and 2. you've only uploaded a 1080 version.
Yea, this was a late night edit, I basically was bored and thought of spending an hour doing random stuff in garry's mod. The editing is manual here so there's a lot of messiness everywhere. I didn't think the pic was super impressive to save the poster 3 version before resizing. Also, if you bend your head, the mountains look like a turtle face.
Lovely CK
