For an upcoming Espionage Wars faction
This looks really sweet. The character equipment, the blurred palm trees, the detailed leaves, the diverse ground foliage. Very well made.
Heck's going on with those belts?
Old rigging
Really would've been worthwhile to just not have the belts, or spend the time to fix their posing. They look that bad, honestly.
No they don't lmao
Oddly enough I'm weirdly fascinated with how the clipping belts are interacting with the lighting
How do you want to fix the posing of the belts when they are dependant on the body itself? If he would have pose it that the belts look ok, he would be not having this pose in the first place. I think you are just over nitpicking at this moment in my opinion.
Could've added a $no_draw line to the belts' VMT, or hecould've disabled the bodygroup, if there is one. Could've edited the belts via photoshop (incredibly time-consuming, but whatever), could've edited them out with patch/heal tool/clone stamp. Literally anything would have
been better than leaving a jarring element visible. Clipping to make something work (IE to make scenebuild elements interlock, to make guns fit in hands, etc) is usually fine because it works to make the image fit together, but this is just straight-up bad looking. If you think I'm
nit-picking then you honestly need to grow a pair and learn that criticism isn't personal, and you are not your work.
I like the rest of the image. I didn't think it was necessary to go "wowser the lighting is great but the belts are bad" because that sounds like a backhanded compliment, and everyone else already said that anyway -- note I even rated the image artistic. If I think something looks bad then I'm gonna give my two cents on it. Ultimately it's up to Ubafest if he takes that or leaves it, but at the end of the day I don't feel like it's nitpicking if it's dead center in the image, and in plain view.
See, this is the thing. Ubafest likes it. I don't. Our conflicting views exist in tandem, and are capable of existing at the same time. Just because I disagree it doesn't mean that you have to go all fucking randy-rowdy gangbusters on me like this is still 2008. We can agree to disagree. Everyone in this section is old enough to act better nowadays, surely. I remember when you would get lit the fuck up by Angry Baker or whatever his name is, with giant red circles over tiny imperfections telling you how you were a faggot for allowing one singular pixel of darkness where there should have been light. Can you act mature and understand that just because I'm saying I think it looks bad, I don't have some kind of murder boner?
I didn't mean it personal althought it might have looked like it. I was just asking how could he do it otherwise because I simply dont know how he could avoid that.
Like I say there's plenty of ways around it. Personally what I would've done is hidden the belts in the VMT (or rather via alpha-override since I use SFM), then gotten a bullet belt prop (there's one in the Resistance and Liberation pack and probably more elsewhere)and posed that over him instead, since that way there would've been direct control over it.
No hard feelings from me.
He wasn't being even remotely aggressive at all, calm down. How the hell is " I think you are just over nitpicking at this moment in my opinion." comparable to pretending you "have some kind of murder boner" ?
IMO it'd be better if you showed up and told me what was wrong alongside what works. Unless everything in the pic is wrong then I think you should give some feedback on what's actually good as well. (I mean if I'm being completely honest rocking up and saying "yo this looks really bad" and then leaving comes off as a bit shitty. I've been guilty of it in the past, but at least now I try to be as constructive as possible to make up for if I didn't anything good to say. Sure, your comment might've been constructive, offering alternate - if a bit extreme- solutions to the issue, but the fact that its a fairly minor thing compared to the rest of the elements of the picture makes it feel like you're overblowing something small for the sake of pointing it out)
Of course the clipping belts are a blatant error - that's not how things work IRL. I can understand why you pointed this out, but I was in the mindset that it was semi-excusable because it was an old model and was really my best option unless I wanted to burn myself out Bone Tooling 50 different belt props to fit the guy.
It's nitpicking if anything, lol. You bringing it up is the only reason why I saw it. You're making such a big deal out of a couple of floating bullets, damn.
