I've played GRIP since it was first announced and while not a perfect modern Rollcage clone, it definitely does a great job of being a spiritual successor. Glad to see it getting a wider release; gaming hasn't had a good classic arcade multiplayer combat racer in a while.
This makes me so happy, been following them since early beta. Played the shit out of Rollcage back in the day...
I feel like I keep repeating this in every thread regarding either GRIP or Rollcage, but the lead developer of GRIP was also the lead programmer behind Rollcage, and he's made remastered versions of Rollcage and Stage II in his spare time that are free and work perfectly on modern systems, including the multiplayer: http://www.codemonkey.me.uk/rollcage_redux.php http://codemonkey.me.uk/rollcage_extreme.php
I love playing this on occasion. Never even heard of Rollcage, but from what this game is inspired by, sounds like it was a really fun combat racer. Unfortunate that the genre sorta died out in the late 2000s.
I love rollcage and I've had a fair bit of fun in GRIP so far so I'm excited to see how it goes backed it too, and I'm happy it's actually happening
Haven't played any of the Early Access stuff but I've been keeping my eye on this since it was announced. Loved Rollcage and I'm looking forward to playing this when it's released.
Been watching alot of early access footage of this game for a while, looks great. The soundtrack fits the gameplay super well. I'm glad this kind of more niche racing game is able to exist theses days.
Oh cool, it's hitting Switch! I was worried it'd be another one of those "PlayStation/Xbox/PC" deals. I never played Rollcage back in the day, but I knew what it was from old gaming magazines and I always thought it was a cool concept. Considering this was PS1-era stuff, I imagine it hasn't aged very gracefully even though I'd still like to check it out for historical purposes, so it's cool we have a modern interpretation if I ever want to jump in and play for fun.
Another kid who grew up playing Rollcage. Got the alpha for the game a while back. Amusing for short sessions, biggest problem was the small playerbase. Looking forward to it's full release. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nF5H5t4ge0E
