I was hoping for an exploding van.
Serious mental illness man.
Vice keeping is classy, now treating internet shitposters as news.
Outward looking in incels seem to constantly claim they're helping each other like a support group but are always tearing each other down to level.
It seems once an incel starts down the path of reaching "Chad" status they are instantly ostracized and rejected, insulted for being "volcel" and such rather than supported.
I find it shocking but not surprising to hear that this guy's friends have all killed themselves besides their claiming this is therapeutic.
ok so which one of you is the star of the show here
Shit your own pants on Skype what a sweet joke for you and the mates. Such a fascinatingly weird community.
I like these things because it makes me look at myself and say "Maybe I'm not that bad after all"
Type "support group" in search at /r/IncelTears and you'll see screenshots from their communities showing how toxic they are to each other when one of them inches towards change
Ugh, this is just absolutely pathetic.
I understood, I'm just showing you
dibs
"Hold on he's gonna shit his pants"

I never get this feeling. I always feel like I could be doing better than I am.
the whole 'incel' thing is just part of the wider problem of the internet normalizing mental illness
tumblr
furries
incels
xgenders or whatever
they are different sides of the same coin
before the internet, weirdos who thought they were apacheattackhelicoptergender or wanted to fuck their dog or who hated women cuz they couldn't get laid would be alone with their thoughts and society could push them in the right direction. now they go online, find a community of likeminded fuckwits and are convinced that society (NOT THEM) is somehow the problem
Literally none of these things are actual mental illnesses.
I think we all need a friendship like this.

His laugh makes me nervous. Makes him look like some evil lords minion, lol dunno.
Incels and incel-related media has always depressed me because I used to be in a similar situation as them and even started to walk down that sort of path before I caught myself and started to talked about it. Even now though I can still see a lot of myself in a lot of these videos and the whole MGTOW-esque ideology because thats the type of person I could've become and might still become if I fall back into that sort of slump. Maybe you're not as bad as them but these people have dug themselves into such a mental hole where they have absolutely no resources to speak out or find help that I don't think the results would be much different no matter who you are. Sorry if this kind of feels like rambling but this thread got me thinking and I wanted to shit out my thoughts and contribute.
Tumblr is a website with many different things on it, are you talking about extreme left social justice warriors? Extremists always suck.
I'm pretty sure most furries don't actually believe they are secretly wolves or want to have sex with real animals, they just like pretending.
Incels are a toxic subculture that encourages things that are harmful for your mental health.
Xgender, I don't think there's anything wrong with feeling like man/woman doesn't apply to you. You can say it's attention seeking, but people do way worse shit for attention, this doesn't really affect anyone. If someone's gender does affect anyone, it's probably down to the individual person being a jerk to people around them about it,.
The same "society pushing them in the right direction" could be interpreted as society being overly restrictive and stopping people from doing what makes them happy because they're under pressure to conform. Not that long ago, people would say stuff like this about gays. I do think the internet has enabled some terrible things, but it's unfair to condemn things without checking if they actually harm anything.
They aren't healthy, productive or constructive either.
Neither is being a bigot, nor a forum poster who makes disingenuous, intentionally misleading post.
lmao the way he just goes ahead and says:
"He's gonna get his dick out. That's what he does, he gets his dick out, shits his pants" was amazing. Like how do you get to the point where that's so normalized to you that you can say that all nonchalant.
I think you're right in the concept of people consolidating themselves to only like-minded communities being a potentially negative thing, but I disagree to the extent that which "mental illness" plays a part.
Normalizing and encouraging overly niche traits in anyone to the point of extremity is going to be a negative thing. However, we shouldn't really phrase that issue as "normalizing mental illness" because, well, mental illness is entirely natural and increasingly common and shouldn't be marginalized.
Other people have already mentioned as much, but the examples you use as "problems" are pretty incongruous as well. Incel culture is in a league of its own in terms of toxicity and it's honestly a little insulting to compare being trans, nonbinary, etc. to being an incel lol
I have no clue what his posting history is, so I have no context for whether he's simply baiting a response or whatever.
Remaining in a insular group and actively shunning anyone whom is different from you or placing your morality above theirs on principle without a long history of interaction to back it up isn't doing anyone any favors, and reinforcing it leads to people doing very damaging things to themselves and others in a lot of instances.
I feel that these guys have redeemable qualities it's just that they are failing to apply themselves in any meaningful way because their perception is so warped. They don't seem to have any severe mental disability, physical deformations, etc. They just live in a fantasy world and living in the bounds and rules of that world. It easily happens when your entire world is based on the internet rather than the people outside your door.
People talk to so much shit on self-help advocates like Jordan Peterson, but he is incredibly consequential in reconciling this behaviors in a changing society. These sorts of problems have always existed (How to Win Friends and Influence people was written in the 1930's) but they have only be exacerbated with people being more isolated and dependent on the world of technology.
What have you done
No, Tumblr can be literally productive and constructive, I know quite a few artists who work either solely or mostly through it.
If the guy in the video would actually get some mental help through therapy or whatever, he could actually have a shot at a normal life. Instead, these people keep themselves and others in a downwards spiral that ends in severe mental damage or suicide. It's really sad actually, and it's definitely indicative of how much we've failed at mental health as a society.
I'm not sure if you realized or not but there's mass murderers coming out of this subculture. Elliot Rodger, Chris Harper-Mercer, Nikolas Cruz, Alek Minassian.
Always better to have more light on an issue than just wave it off as "lol shitposting"
It's a psychological phenomenon, don't be stupid.
I sincerely doubt anyone here is talking solely about the platforms themselves.
The issue is they're just platforms and are defined by output of the people on those platforms, and if you think it's an accident people are migrating to piviv, sharecg and artstation and other venues, it probably isn't. It's been literal years since I've heard "tumblr" and "my portfolio" uttered in the same sentence. Meanwhile it's pretty damn hard to hit a random blog without having someone's politics shoved up my nose or hit a generic gif repository.
article
Except it isn't an article, it's a six minute editorial where the "reporter" shows me one guy and some other various internet people who clearly have some shit to deal with, apparently one of them literally. This is neither journalism nor educational. No discussion of mental illness versus societal disposition, no qualified people saying why these people act as they do, or how they form the values they have, no interviews with people outside the circle that deal with people at all whether online or meatspace no discussion with their parents or old classmates on behavioral changes, no cross examples of women dealing with the same issues and why they don't feel the need to commit violence and just stopping at forming fuck you circle jerk channels, nada. No history, no backdrop other than name dropping two people with rather clear mental issues and a documented history thereof that was ignored until they acted.
This is the same chick trying to goad the dinosaur civil war dude into declaring his park a white man's sanctuary of revisionist history or some shit, and so far I'm not really seeing anything remotely journalistic out of her other than she can make the patented "I'm listening" face.
